OK, I've got directories with a bunch of images in them, so to cram them into the POS, I am using fsimport... so two things: 1) the page says use URL?fsfile=... when it's really URL?fsdir=... no big deal :-) 2) I tworked for the first directory, I think, but I added a test so that it would work, regardless of the case of the extensions in figuring out it's an image... now it doesn't work, even though according to dear old Mr. Creosote, it's passing the _isimg test... I've got some more info that may help solve my problem. I change the hanlder for text/plain from Netscape to 'Save to Disk', and it worked. This prompted me to look more closely at the headers. This is what I found: HTTP/1.1 200 OK Date: Mon, 28 Dec 1998 18:52:25 GMT Server: Apache/1.3.3(Unix) Content-Disposition: inline; filename=salesdat.csv Content-Length: 501 Keep-Alive: timeout=15, max=100 Connection: Keep-Alive Content-Type: text/plain <--snip--> This leads me to beleive the Bobo is ignoring or overwriting the content-type line in my code: RESPONSE.headers['Content-Type'] = "text/csv" RESPONSE.headers['Content-Disposition'] = "inline; filename=salesdat.csv" RESPONSE.flush() Have we a bug here? You could try playing around with JavaScript (perhaps), but that seems (even if it works) like a worse solution than lying. (The only OS I know that knows about file types on the FS level is MacOS, and it doesn't know MIME types, as HFS predates MIME a bit ;) ) Andreas -- Win95: n., A huge annoying boot virus that causes random spontaneous system crashes, usually just before saving a massive project. Ok, I have been reading on Object storage and manipulation in Python and there has been a number of threads about attaching databases. WHY? ZOPE IS A DATABASE! If I am not mistaken! (no flames yet...read on) In traditional object storage you create objects(folders in Zope) with properties. Then refer to them. ______________________________ HERE IS MY QUESTION(Q:) AND POINT(P:) Q:CAN ZOPE STORE DATA AS PROPERTIES OF A FOLDER? Q:CAN THIS HAPPEN DYNAMICALLY? (a.Create objects b.Store Form data to objects c.Refer to Objects) P:IF YES: THEN YOU DO NOT NEED A DATABASE(in most/some cases-Depending on the APP)! ______________________________ SCENARIO 1. User Logs on to a site made of ZOPE. 2. User fills out form full of data on the user. FORM DATA=(username=monty,dog=rover,shoes=yes,picture=me.gif) 3. Zope creates a new user record object --> user_recs.monty 4. Zope attaches all of the form data to the object as properties so that: a. user_recs.monty.dog = rover b. user_recs.monty.shoes = yes a. user_recs.monty.picture = me.gif 5. I'm not understanding what you are trying to do here - why would you create a new database connection for each user? In Zope, you usually only need to add a single db connection object (by using "Add" in the management interface, not through code). Then you Add Z SQL Method objects, which encapsulate the various queries you want to run. The SQL Method objects just use the existing database connection. > > 3. - Help inserting into MySQL

I've been trying to make a simple application that posts news onto a news page (ala Slashdot or whatever) and then displays it dynamically. I have gotten the display pages to work fine, but I'm having trouble with the Insert page. There was a bug in the DA that caused queries that produced no results to fail :( This has been fixed. I'm not quite sure that there really is a solution for this problem, so I didn't add it to the bug list, but it is something to think about. Can ayone think of a good way to keep DTML from infinetly looping? We would like to be able to offer the zope managment screens to our customers, unfortunatly we discovered it's real easy to lock the server up with a little bit of DTML. For exaple. Create a folder and place a document method in it and call it index_html. Place this line in the index html file.    Then add one sub folder with nothing in it so that this folder will aquire the index_html method from the parent folder. Preheat your oven to 350, and view your document. If you look at /Control_Panel/Products/ZMySQLDA in the management interface, do you see a "traceback" tab? If so, what does the traceback say? You might also ensure that the MySQLmodule.so that you created has its permissions set so that the Zope process can read and execute it. - alter the default public interface?

Hi, joining the list! Hello to all. When adding a folder, the default is to create as a public interface the viewable file index.html. Is it possible to alter the default, so that my version is created each time? Also it would be handy if the cursor could be at my chosen location on that page instead of having to activate the page with the mouse as at present. Tim Fraser
