Dear All: I am unable to get Zope to work with Apache for the past week or so after multiple attempts (on Linux and Solaris). So i am going to email to the group one last time: Here are my setup: Solaris 2.6 x86 Apache 1.3.3 Zope 1.9b3 (released just today) I did get the dialog box to popup and ask me for Username and Password. So I typed in the username and password in my $ZOPE_DIR/access file. I get back Authentication Failed message. mod_rewrite is working and I confirmed that with LogLevel 9 so it logs matched URL. Here are the mod_rewrite rules/conds from the httpd.conf file: RewriteEngine on RewriteLog "/usr/local/apache_1.3.3/logs/rewrite.log" RewriteLogLevel 9 RewriteCond %{HTTP:Authorization} ^(.*) RewriteRule ^/Zope/(.*) /usr/local/apache_1.3.3/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/$1 [e=HTTP_CGI_AUTHORIZATION:%1,t=application/x-httpd-cgi,l] I have also tried the other RewriteRule that was posted to the Zope web site. The message that I get back (if I do not want to retry after I get the authorization failed header) is: You are not authorized to access this resource. Username and password are not correct. - Zope with Apache Newbie

S.U.S.E Linux 5.2. upgraded to Python 1.5.1, Apache upgraded to 1.3.1. Installed Zope 1.9. All compiled from source. Python works, Apache works. "rewrite" compiled in all apache config files (3) checked and rechecked. nobody and nogroup permissions set in apache and Zope Var directory and files. Zope.cgi linked to apache cgi-bin. No Zope, however on access attempt from browser. Have read all related posts, and still don't "get it. Pretty sure pcgi is not starting up at all. merry christmas to all :)

- Zope-1.9.0 + Python-1.5.2b1 = BOOM

When compiling, I get: ./../Components/ExtensionClass/ThreadLock.c:75: parse error before `type_lock' Apparently this is due to a renaming in Python between 1.5.1 and 1.5.2b1: thread.h -> pythread.h (which the code does look for) but apparently there has now been a renaming of type_lock -> PyThread_type_lock (also type_sema -> PyThread_type_sema) and free_lock -> PyThread_free_lock. I'm guessing the first change came with the 1.5.2a series and the latter came with 1.5.2b; 1.5.2b1's pythread.h definitely does not have all the renaming stuff in 1.5.1. Luckily I still had a 1.5.1 source tree lying around. Making the changes above SHOULD work for 1.5.1 as well, however, since it does do a bunch of renaming in thread.h, but if you're using 1.5.1, you probably don't need the patch. I'm just starting with Zope and have some questions: 1. In the form below, it gives me this error when calling manage_open_connection:  what is wrong with the call? 2. If I change 'conn' to user in the manage_addZMySQLConnection(), how do I address user in manage_open_connection()? i.e. MySQL.manage_addZMySQLConnection(user, ...) MySQL.user.manage_open_connection() is what I'm trying to accomplish. 3. - ZMySQLDA does not show up.

Ok now, I downloaded, compliled, and installed the MySQL release version 3.21.33. (Three tries) I downloaded and installed the ZMySQLDA package as per instructions, everything worked, no errors in the consol window and I created a "MySQLmodule.so" binary. Moved it into the ZMySQLDA product directory and restarted Zope. I did change the ZMySQLDA setup script to reflect the correct paths to my MySQL lib and include dirs. Make was completed fine. However when logging into my management screen I do not have the option to create a new database connection from the pull down menu. Any thoughts, did I miss a thread on this? DAve.

- Zope/ODBC and MS Sql Server 6.5 connection

Hi, Has anyone managed to connect to MS SQL Server 6.5 using Zope ODBC? The ODBC Data Source Administrator does not have a place where you can specify a user/id and password. So selecting the data source does not seem to be enough. The clients that I use (isqlw) always ask for a userid and password. How do I provide this information to Zope, while at the same time using ODBC? When I try to connect it gives me the following message [ec is my data source name]: <strong>Invalid connection string: </strong><CODE>ec</CODE><br>   I got the following from the SQL server books online, and tried both. >>A minimum complete SQL Server connection string has one of two forms: >>DSN=dsnname;UID=loginid;PWD=password; >>DRIVER={SQL Server};SERVER=server;UID=loginid;PWD=password; I also tried using the Sybase connection string pattern, to no avail. - Problem adding object on Win32 binary release

Hi, Zope Zen might be approaching 0.01! I hope someone gets this as I have seen no traffic since 12/17, but the Mailman insists I am subscribed! I just downloaded the Win32 binary of the 1.9 final release, installed it, and finally decided that I was done playing around and reading about this tool, I was going to actually try and use it! Unfortunately Zope doesn't work with my favourite browser (Opera), so I have to use IE4. Most of the features work, but when I attempt to do an add from the top level folder, IE4 reports the following error: "Microsoft Internet Explorer cannot open the Internet site http://localhost:9673?%3amethod=manage_adddocumentform/.
