Anyone got etcuserfolder to work? The product breaks with from crypt import crypt ImportError: Shared object "libcrypt.so.1" not found and this on a vanilla FreeBSD 3.2 box... the crypt-module works fine in an ordinary python program or interactively... Puzzled, t.

Thanks for the pointer - I have two problems with this. The first is that I don't have a SQL database. Not much of a problem to test your stuff, I can always get one! The other problem iis one that has been discussed multiple times around here on the Zope list. I want to give the the user some editing abilities which include changing the styles of some of the objects. Any hints, clues, advice? NotMail help

I'm trying to get NotMail up and runninand after installing the NotMail and IMAPAdapter products, its acting half-broken ... when I open up the index document it shows my inbox in the right side frame, but gives an IndexError string index out of range in the left frame. Can somebody help steer me in the right direction ? Thanks in advance! Using French date format

Hello, I want to use French date formats. Here is what I have understood so far about international date formats. If anything is wrong, please say so. I use Zope 2.0.1. I'll write up an howto to summarize the story. 1) OK, if I want to enter the edit time for an objet, I just enter <dtml-var bobobase_modification_time> The result is a long time stamp in GMT format. Eg. : 1999/10/22 13:01:33.059 GMT+1 2) If I want another format, I can use C-style format strings. Eg. : <dtml-var bobobase_modification_time fmt="%d/%m/%Y - %H:%M"> I get the following results : "22/10/1999 - 11:01". Fine, but it's two hours off because it is GMT based. I can also use : <dtml-var "bobobase_modification_time().strftime('%d/%m/%Y - %H:%M')"> Same result. 3) Someone suggested using the "toZone('myTimeZone')" method. Eg.: <dtml-var "bobobase_modification_time().toZone('US/Indiana-Starke').strftime('%d/%m/%Y - %H:%M')">

Zope,Python,Corba - which way to go

Hello Zopers, I'm currently working on a project, which requires to have access to a Corba ORB (currently Fnorb is used). Does anyone played a little bit with Corba, Python and Zope? My following Questions are not completely answered for me yet: a) How to handle the Corbaclient in a multi threaded environment. b) I think it's a bad Idea to use an Extension Method. Thus every Clientrequest leads to the same process of getting the ref and than getting an object handle throughout a factory. If I understand right ZClasses and Products are initialized at Zope server start time. Then I think is best to use them for doing the initial Job (getting references) and presenting them through a well defined Interface. c) How exactly is the life circle of: - Product Objects - External Method Objects - ZClasses Maybe you have some hints or links for me, or could something tell about your own experiences. Inheritance glitches?

Hi, I'm trying to write an external ZClass base class which inherits from CatalogAware and another external ZClass base I've written. I'm trying to call CatalogAware's manage_afterAdd function from within my new class's manage_afterAdd function, but whenever I try it, I get Error Type: TypeError Error Value: unbound method must be called with class instance 1st argument My code looks like this: class BasicGroup(CatalogAware, LogAware): meta_type = 'BasicGroup' def manage_afterAdd(self, item, container): CatalogAware.manage_afterAdd(self, item, container) ... How can I get properties from a folder object???

Hello I am very new to Zope and I have a problem: I want to create a DTML file that is able to manipulate the properties of an objekt (folder).(like the manage_propertiesForm) I found out how I can change the properties but I want to know how I can get the properties from the object, because I need them to create a dynamic form. I try it with  and  but I need a function that can be used in an " in-tag" like: <dtml-in propertyItem>  //Id of the property  //Value of the property </dtml-in> I know that this is nonsens but maybe it exlain my needs.
