zope not working with wingate 3/winsock?

All, Anyone tried running Zope on a 98 machine with Wingate 3.0 Client running? I think this is causing my zope to fall over (to be more correct not starting) as if I use it on a 98 machine without a Wingate 3.0 Client running it works fine n dandy.. I've tried switching off the wingate 3.0 client, and adding python.exe to it's list of "excluded" programs.. all to no avail... Would be neat if I didn't have to keep swapping windows directories to run Zope, so if anyone has got around this problem please shout out. Ta Rowan

dtml-tree bugs?

>From playing around with dtml-tree tags, it would appear that there are some small bugs. I had problems using branches-expr. The namespace inside the tree tag was not from the object in the tree, but from the object containing the tree. Writing code in python that called objectValues, and then calling that from the branches= attribute of the tree tag fixed that one. However, I have another similar problem. Each object in the tree (a zclass called Cpi), contains a dtml-method called outline-string that returns a string. This method works fine when called directly from the containing object. However, when my tree is iterating through all of the Cpi objects, calls inside the tree tag to the outline_string method always result in the outline_string tag from the CPI containing the dtml-tree rather than the Cpi's contained by the tree (each Cpi contains other Cpis) The dtml-tree code is as follows: <dtml-tree branches=cpiBranches> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>/web_script"> <dtml-var outline_string> <dtml-var title_or_id></a> </dtml-tree> absolute_url and title_or_id render correctly for the class, but outline_string always renders from the class containing this code. I assume that the namespace doesn't grab dtml-methods correctly. While I am at it... How do I access the PARENTS object of a ZClass from inside python code? My ZClass uses code that is almost identical to the ZDiscussion Base Classes for base classes, and then has 2 ZClasses (equivalent to Topic and Item in ZDiscussions) based on the python code. I suspect the tree code would work if I called a python method instead of a dtml one, but I have no idea how to access the PARENTS object from within the code. I was unable to reference it as self.PARENTS or to pass it to the function. \ --sam

sqlgroup usage question

After reading about the <dtml-sqlgroup> tag and trying several arrangements, I am confused how it works. Here's the problem: Suppose I have a ZSQL method called 'list_employees' as follows: Arguments: id lastname select employee_id, firstname, lastname from employees <dtml-sqlgroup where> <dtml-sqltest employee_id optional type=int> <dtml-or> <dtml-sqltest lastname optional type=nb> </dtml-sqlgroup> Suppose also that I have a dtml method called 'mydtml' as follows: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-in list_employees> <dtml-var employee_id> = <dtml-var lastname>, <dtml-var firstname><br> </dtml-in> By the ZSQL guide, I would expect that I could call the dtml method in any of the following ways and get the desired result: http://myzope/some/folder/mydtml <<This should list all employees>> http://myzope/some/folder/mydtml?employee_id=5 <<This should list employee number 5>> http://myzope/some/folder/mydtml?lastname=Smith <<This should list all employees w/ lastname Smith>> However, none of these work. In each case, I get a 'Bad Request' error for one or both of the arguments. If I do not put 'id' and 'lastname' in the arguments list for the ZSQL method, then for any request, I get the full list of employees. According to the ZSQL Guide, that is because optional sqltest variables that are not listed in the 'Arguments' list are sought from properties in the current folder.
