When I say XSL I mean XSL :-) An early syntax for specifying a style-sheet to render an arbitrary XML document was: <?xml-stylesheet href="BigAndBlusterousHtml.xsl" type="text/xsl" ?> I don't know if this syntax has been preserved. XSL style sheets can be used to transform an XML document, but when Jim Fulton mentioned XSL style sheets as being methods, I got somewhat concerned that he meant for them to be specified explicitly. Security Question

Dear Sir,Madam, I Do not really understand all These security buttons. I want to make a collection of users that access a special form from the web. For example http://localhost:9673/UploadForm. They need to pass a PASSWORD question, but they never can access the DTML code that generates the form code or any other Zope management screens. How do I organise It. Bug with new dtml- syntax?

Hi, I'm using ZopeBeta1, nice install by the way!-) Two notes (bugs/issues)? 1. When I use the new syntax &dtml-MyVarGoesHere; but I forget the trailing semicolon, Zope seems to hang. I note that there is no other semi-colon following my typoed &dtml-xxx; token. 2. I love the dtml-xxx; syntax compared to the  syntax. However, if I'm not mistaken (sort of jumping in over my head here), the dtml-xxx; syntax merges the namespace for Zope keywords (e.g., if, else, with, in, etc.) with that of user variables (e.g., MyVar, MyFolder, and anything else interesting and possibly user defined, e.g., "if", "else", "with", "in", etc.). If I'm not wrong on this point, wouldn't it be better (and safer) to keep the two namespaces apart? Perhaps two syntaxes are needed, e.g.: dtml-if, dtml-with, dtml-in, ... dtml:MyVar, dtml:MyFolder, dtml:MyIf, dtml:if, dtml:WhateverGetsCreatedDynamically to avoid conflicts. Enjoying the examples by the way. The DTML for the Embedded folders was surprisingly interesting with the manipulation (cancellation) of the headers, etc.. I can not confirm, only add to the rumour, as we have not upgraded to MSSQL 7.0 ourselves yet, but I believe I can shed some technical light on the issue. For MSSQL 7.0, deprecated DB-Library (analoguous to the Sybase CT-Library) and now recommends using any of OLE DB, ADO, ODBC, or RDO -- approximately in that order of preference -- instead. However, full backward compatibility with DB-Library and older clients is kept, meaning you will not need to recompile your old clients to work with 7.0. >From this we may infer that the wire protocol, called TDS, for the MSSQL 6.5 feature set has not changed. You can't use 7.0's new features through the old DB-Library, but you can still use the whole of the 6.5 feature set. An interesting part of all this is that Microsoft now considers ODBC a "legacy" API. They recommend using OLE DB all the way now, or ADO (which is essentially a dual-interface COM wrapper around OLE DB) if you're in scripting land, or chained to Visual Basic, or you just don't like OLE DB all that much, or if you don't need speed. While OLE DB is not a particularly pleasant API, it is reasonable thin, and it does support a much larger variety of data sources, including directory services, message queing, and (iirc) mail. It currently has drivers for ODBC (bridge), Oracle, SQL Server, Microsoft Jet, and a driver for simple file-based persistent storage. It also supports remoting, so your program can speak through OLE DB with an OLE DB driver on a remote computer. Hi, I've been watching Zope since it went Open Source and I'm absolutely fascinated by the possibilities. Great software. Who knows, I might be able to contribute to the comunity sometime... Still, there's problems here and there: I have two zope installations running. One that I use for a normal web site and a cvs version (i.e. 2.x) for testing. The former runs Zope 2.10.2. I'm currently trying to find a way to copy the contents to the new Zope system. Exporting from the "older" Zope to a *.bbe file is no problem. If the "new" Zope (ZServer, I believe) is started with the -2 switch (python z2.py -2), I can import the content from the *.bbe file and work with it.
