Thanks very much. The first option works!!! But only in IE. But it's stilll ok, at this time. I have another question : So after submitting the page, the snippet for the following page is at below: <snip>     Nothing<br>  It gave the error on the 2nd line. Why is it so? I'm sure we can change the value of p1 a lot of times, but then I suspect the sequence-item variable doesn't work in this way. Please reply to hcsccs(a)prudential.com.my as well. oh... This query outright crashes Zope on my system! PostgreSQL 6.5 Vine linux 1.1 (Japanese Red Hat clone) Linux 2.2.9 (with appropriate updates :^) Python 1.5.1 Zope 1.10.3 ZPyGreSQLDA 0.3 I noticed that if you take out both MONEY types from the query, Zope doesn't crash. If you take out one, Zope doesn't crash, but only returns one row. It sure looks like a ZPyGreSQLDA bug. I finally got Zope2 running by supplying the IP address with -a: start -a 127.0.0.1 At first I didn't think it was working, because I didn't see any confirmation message -- it just appeared to hang. (On my Linux machine at work, I get a rather detailed message showing the ports in use, etc.) Everything seems to work otherwise, so I guess I'm happy. Thanks for your help...

Installation

I just downloaded the 1.10.3-3 complete main and pcgi rpms from jbauer's site and installed them for use with pcgi and apache 1.3.6. I installed both packages, edited the access file, and copied the cgi to my cgi-bin directory. When I go to: http://localhost/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/manage I get: Temporarily Unavailable The resource you requested is temporarily unavailable - please try again later. (102) failure during connect I went to the online troubleshooting guide, and 'nobody' owns the /var/local/zope/var directory with all privs enabled. The only file in that directory is Data.bbb and that is also owned by nobody with rw permissions. /var/tmp is empty and pcgifile.py says that the Zope.cgi file looks okay. HTML comment says: Connection refused pcgi-wrapper-version 2.0a5 I am out of ideas. Any suggestions? Sorry for the newbie-ish question, but I seem to have exhausted everything I can think of. Hi, again, all! I'm looking for a way of adding 1 to a variable then storing it into the Zope database (Gadfly) through DTML. I don't want to use any External Methods if possible. I understand that External Methods would be easier, but it's important that it not be such a method. Thanks again! Donner

problem with bbb.py
