Are there any modules that do NTLM authentication?

Is there anything written for Python/Zope that manages to do Windows NTLM Authentication? Please CC me on any replies, I'm not yet up to speed enough on Zope to wade through the list. Thanks! Hunter

We have had a similar problem with Oracle converting Integers to Floating-Points. All #'s in ORACLE would appear in DTML as (1.0) when a whole integer of (1) was in the database. We solved the problem by formatting the results on screen via DTML. I do not think this will work in your case but here is what we did. Here is the FORMATTING in DTML for REALS to INTEGERS <dtml-var number fmt="%.0d"--> I realize this is not exactly what you are looking for. Hope this helps. Theodore E. Date problems with ODBC persist in Zope 2

Wasn't this fixed long ago in a galaxy far, far away? Somebody kindly posted DateTime.py patches (for handling "foreign" time zones) for Zope 1.x at one point, and I blatantly assumed they had been rolled into Zope 2, but apparently not? I'm using those variables in the construction of RPMs for Zope 2.0.1, such that you can install the Zope package once and then install the Zope-pcgi or Zope-zserver package multiple times in relocated directories, and get per-site Zope servers. The hierarchy I'm using is similar to what you describe below except that I'm using Red Hat Linux, so I'm using /usr/share/zope/ instead of the /opt/zope/ tree structure, and the per-site r/w stuff goes under /var/zope/ but can be relocated elsewhere via RPM cmdline args. You still have to hand-patch your Apache files to point to the various sites though. Docs go into the usual /usr/doc/<package>/ RPM directory. Creation of Zclasses inside Zclasses

Hello Zope fellows, after digging through tons of email in the archives I still haven't found a solution for my problem: Following the Zclasses tutorial on zope.org I created a product and created a class inside that product. When I tried to create an internal class as decribed in the section "Classes inside Classes", I was able to create an item of my new product, and could also create objects of my new zclass. But the INNER class does not appear in the "Available Objects" list for objects of the outer class :( Another problem I encountered is that I could add Objects to the "subobjects" list of my zclass (which inherits from ObjectManager, of course), but could not _remove_ objects. I would really like to do that, so that the "Available Objects" list is not as crowded in inner classes as it is globally. Zope in Portals

Hello, I'm new to this list, so escuse the dumb questions. I am responsable for the development team of SAPO, the most popular and visited Portuguese portal. We are delivering about 10 milion pages per month and growing quickly. We are evaluation solutions for the future of our already complex struture in terms of content management, site administration and publishing. I came across Zope from several sources and decided to give a deep look. Installed the software and read most of the guides and FAQs. We are very impressed with Zope's concept and feature list but we still have a few questions we would like answered: 1. It is often mentioned that Zope is very scalable. But how does it scale? We currently have an architeture that consists in several backends with SQL databases and NFS servers and about 5 mirrored frontends with Apaches delivering static and dynamic web pages, load balanced by an Alteon Ace Director Switch. Would Zope fit in such an environment ? Are there any case studies or testimonials using something like this? 2. How well does Zope performs ? Are there any benchmarks ? I was not very impressed with the results of an "ab" (Apache Benchmark Program) I did to Zserver requesting 1000 pages with 200 concurrent requests. And how bad is it to use PCGI/Apache instead of ZServer ? Is the future of Zope focused in developing Zserver or integrating Zope well with other Web Server such as Apache ? 3. It seemed to me that Zope doesn't support mySQL very well, being Oracle mentioned all the time. As mySQL is still our main SQL platform, i ask if mySQL DA is still being supported and/or developed? Oracle and MAX

Has anyone used the sql MAX() with Oracle. We were using Sybase and ported to Oracle and it seems that the MAX() in Oracle converts my real numbers to integers this did not happen in Sybase, any thoughts? How many Zope threads were running at the time? This is an obvious tweak. You wouldn't slam Apache with 200 concurrent requests when 'MaxClients' was set to 5. Also, how realistic is that dataset? Sure it lets you flex the muscle a bit, but I suspect your full dynamic path involves alot of other systems too, like relational database. Keep in mind also that Zope is a dynamic system which is, by concept, slower than static systems like Apache. Apache is also written in C, most of Zope is written in Python. Python is an awesome language, and zope in infinitly extensable, but the cost of this extensability is bytecode interpreter overhead. Many parts of zope are written in C for the reason of speed.
