Uploading Images

Hi Everyone, Has anyone had any problems with the manage_addImage method in ZOPE 2. When i try and upload an image i get a username and password box appear. I can upload files (txt and html) fine and can delete and everything else, just the image upload will not work. I have tried messing around with the security settings, but this is not working. It worked fine in Zope1 but is not working at the mo!! :( Any suggestions?? Ta, P.

splitting strings ??

i'm not very knowledgeable in the ways of python, but i've found out how to split strings by separators : for example : <dtml-if expr="_.string.split(_['REMOTE_ADDR'],'.')[1] == '71'">etc... how do i reference the *last* character of a string, not using any separators ?? -- Geir B Hansen web-developer/designer geirh(a)funcom.com http://www.funcom.com

Dynamically choosing a ZSQLMethod to run

hi all, I have an application where I have several different SQL queries I want to do but I want to use the same DTML method to render the output. I imagine that I should be able to store a reference to a ZSQLMethod in a variable like thing and set it to the right query before I call the DTML method. Otherwise it seems like I need N display functions for the N queries. How can I do this? I have moderate experience in Python and enough experience in Zope to have built a bug tracking database system entirely in DTML (no external methods or external python products). thanks Michael Wang-Helmke Play, Incorporated

So I you want to authenticate users on a different domain than the local domain, you have to change the Default NT Domain to the remote domain. I suppose that your server have to be part of the domain. Unfortunately, you have then to create each remote user in the 'domain users' tab **in order to be able to give them roles**. If those users are to be anonymous, you needn't create them in the tab. Also, a user can log as DOMAIN\USERNAME to authenticate as USERNAME on DOMAIN. My product is currently designed to be run *on* a Domain Controller (primary or backup) to be able to enumerate all the users of the domain. Perhaps in a future version it will be able to enumerate users on a distant server??? > In addition, when I use your product....the local Domain Name > it sees is "NT Authority" This is normal because you run Zope as a service. I noticed that the users are authenticated the right way nevertheless. So it shouldn't be a problem. comparing <dtml-var> values

Hi everyone, I can't find the answer to this anywhere. How do I compare the values of two <dtml-var> tags inside a <dtml-if>? Given an object: /folder/object And a version: /folder/versionN Couldn't the FTP server be made to return the original object if the request is for /folder/object and the ``versioned'' object if the request was for /folder/object/versionN ? Extending ZSQL methods to zope objects

Does anyone have some simple (and useful) examples in which the results from ZSQL methods are extended to be zope objects? I'm trying to figure out what is possible and what is not. Right now, the documentation in the ZSQL guide gives a trivial example of an extension. However, the guide only eludes to tying together ZSQL results with a URL (ex: http://some.zope/myfolder/myzsql/lastname/Smith) and does not really explain how this works. I would love to see some more realistic examples of using ZSQL methods in a powerful way. Can you use the URL to define searches and filters based on ZSQL results and inherit the index_html from a base folder? What else is possible? It seems that simple-yet-powerful integration of Zope with SQL datasources is crucial to Zope's success. Maybe DC can enlighten us on some ZSQL best practices. Installation Routes Comparison

PCGI uses Rewrite module, which is a complex Apache facility, and otherwise, configuring Apache sometimes may be complicated. The best thing you can do is to browse the zope(a)zope.org archive (1999 oct - dec) for Apache, PCGI, or read some invaluable HOW-TOS. To whet your appetite here is my receipe (with some technical background) how to install Zope with Apache on RH6.1. If you manage (I am sure you will) to install Zope+PCGI+Apache, please write us what was the cause of your problem. It would be very nice to collect a list of troubles with Apache+Zope installation.
