There are a couple of how-tos on this allready. Ok, like the "Formatted Document" product used on the Zope site. So basiclly: don't use DTML Document/Method, subclass them to do what you want them to do, instead of a lot of dtml-tags inside of them? That way you get different meta-type tags for different type of data, and zcatalog can handle them properly...? Am I getting it right? -- /Magnus Heino

The problem, found thanks to Kevin Littlejohn's efforts, affects those sites which make their Zope management interface available to untrusted users. All Zope users are encouraged to read the announcement and update their Zope installation. Patches are available for both 2.x and 1.x. Photo resizes images to the user's preferred size. The present version is 0.1.0. http://www.zope.org/Members/Drew/Photo * "vladap" updated the mysqlUserFolder Product. This update fixes a folder creation bug. mysqlUserFolder allows you to authenticate users with data stored in a mysql database. It also allows you to store arbitrary per-user data, and it supports HTTP and cookie-based authentication schemes. The MIME patch adds *_expr versions of the type, disposition, encode and name attributes of the MIME tag. These allow you to evaluate an expression for the value of the attribute rather than specifying a literal value. The patch also adds the attributes filename and filename_expr to the tag. These attributes supply hints that the client will use to determine the file's name. It will change just the mentioned properties, 'contact' in your example. I think, you find this information in the Zope integrated help system (API Reference, Property Manager). The first component in each log line is the the hostname or its internet address from where the request came (may be a proxy). Maybe, this information gives you a hint about the requests origin. I suspect that you may be using a CLIENT proxy (configured in your Netscape or MSIE setup) which has the Zope document cached. Or that you may have some additional authentication configured into your Apache that interferes with the ProxyPass directive! You should not impose Apache authentication on the subtree that's ProxyPassed back to the ZServer - let Zope handle that.

Automatically submitting forms

Hi again, I have a situation where I'd like to automatically "press" a submit button. I have a form that acts more like a sub-routine. It simply processes a query, if the query is not successful, it displays and error message, if the query is successful it puts some data in a list and then asks then presents a "Continue" button. I'd really like to eliminate the use of the continue button, but don't know how to get the results of my lists to the next form without doing so. I guess I would like to programmatically submit the form if user intervention is not required. -- Stand Fast, tjg. newbie questions about zope with apache

Greetings all, I'm having problems getting zope running with Apache. I've got mod_rewrite compiled into apache (confirmed with httpd -l). The ZServer daemon is running, and I can connect to it at www.odeon.net/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi The QuickStart material linked from the above location all works fine. When I try to go to www.odeon.net/cgi-bin/Zope.cgi/manage it pops up the username/password box. After entering the username and password as defined in the zope/access file I get a message that says Unauthorized. The URL appears correct, and the information being passed to Zope is correct.
