Assigning strings using DTML-LET

I'm trying to assign the string: 1=1 to the variable criteria using this construct: <dtml-let criteria='1=1'> but I can't because Zope complains: invalid parameter: "=1'", for tag <dtml-let criteria='1=1'>, on line 5 of Create_List Some playing around reveals that it doesn't like spaces and the equals sign (=) in the string. Am I correct in thinking that something delimited by single quotes (eg. 'this is a string') is a string? If so why can't I (or how can I) include spaces and the equal sign inside the string. thanks - Jason Wong

scope of DTML-let tag

Hi, Say I want to call a dtml method that requires some extra variable, one way is to set that variable in the REQUEST using REQUEST.set('name', 'value'), and one is able to call the dtml method. Somebody suggested using the DTML-let tag to do the same thing, but I haven't been able to get it to work: <dtml-let variable="some expresion"> <dtml-var dtmlmethodname> </dtml-let> when dtmlmethodname tries to access "variable" with <dtml-var variable>, zope complains that variable does not exist. Is there a way of using the let tag to accomplish this, or is there a different way? Is using the REQUEST object the normal way of "passing" variables to other methods ? thanks Allen

So everybody must log in to use the site. bizarre, it should work. are you sure that Benutzers can *view* sub folders? where did you create the administrator role? in the top level folder or in the sub folders? by the way, where do your users authenticate from? from the nt 2k pro box (that is, the users are created *on* this box)? from a different domain (and the domain controller is another machine)? until I can write a better doc, also read in the zope archives the messages from 'Ava' and 'minf7' I'm not at the office right now, so I can't do further tests. but I should be able to reply on monday, at least. by the way, if you want to force all users to log in, you may consider using zope with iis, and let iis do the authentication. this may not be possible with nt 2k *pro* (it doesn't work with nt workstation because IIS requires nt server). see http://www.zope.org/Members/jephte hope this help jephte clain minf(a)educ.univ-reunion.fr note: I'm leaving in 10 mn. if you want to reply, reply right now. if not, see you on monday

So no dtml calling from my point. Ah, so I understand that it's not called with arguments. So you need another external method. Change you external method to look like this def recursiveMethod(obj, result): if hasattr(obj, 'aq_parent'): result.append(obj.title) recursiveMethod(obj.aq_parent, result) return result def ParentList(self): obj=self return recursiveMethod(obj, []) Then make you external method refer to ParentList This works without arguments from a testfolder. Effective Rights

Hi. Is there any way to calculate a roles effective rights on a object in Zope? I currently have the situation that I can access two DTML documents in a folder anonymously, and two other DTML documents only with manage users. Trying to track the problem down, but I dont get it right. What about this acquire permission settings checkbox? Is there any special behavior when I added a local role in a folder? Can this affect acquisition of permissions of e.g. the anonymous role? CYa, Mario

smbUserFolder

Hi, I have a Problem using the smbUserFolder product. I think I installed all the modules (smbvalid...) correctly but the authentification is not working. Is there any possibility to get some debbugging information to know where the problem is (the zope log file tells me nothing)? Is there any possibility to see from within python if the smbvalid module works? best regards Simon
