How does one access a ZClass property from a ZClass method?

I have a ZClass with a property sheet that contains two properties. I then created a method for the ZClass that tried to access the properties. For example: I created a property sheet that contained a float property named "high". I then created a DTML memo in the methods section of the ZClass. But when I put something like <dtml-var high> in the method, I get a KeyError saying that high doesn't exist? Obviously, I'm not understanding something somewhere. I want to generate the content of the page which in before all other contents. How can I skip empty sections? The details is an newsletter, the site is struct root from_editor news information activities letters The newsletter have a layout as <dtml-var front_matters> <dtml-var contents> <dtml-var list_from_editor> <dtml-var list_letters> <dtml-var list_news> <dtml-var list_information> <dtml-var list_activities> which each list_xx is: <dtml-with xx> <dtml-var listitems> </dtml-with> listitems will skip expired items automatically: <dtml-in "objectValues(['DTML Document'])" sort="id" skip_unauthorized> <dtml-if "(expiredate - ZopeTime() ) >= 0.0 "> <dtml-var title_or_id> <dtml-if "AUTHENTICATED_USER.has_permission( 'Change DTML Documents', _['sequence-item'])"> <a href="manage_edit">Edit</a> </dtml-if> <dtml-if "(ZopeTime() - _['bobobase_modification_time']) > Newdate"> <em>New</em> </dtml-if> <ul compact><dtml-var sequence-item></ul> </dtml-if> </dtml-in> The problem is I want to include a table of content automatically: <dtml-if list_from_editor> <p><a href="#fromeditor">From the Editors</a></p> </dtml-if> which will skip empty sections. NameSpace Question

I need a name space expert to please answer the following question. Why can't I access row_items in the following senario: dtml document (index): has an input form with records called row_items as inputs. On submit it calls form2 ( post ). dtml document "form2": it uses row_items just fine. it also has an input form and simply calls form3 (post) on submit. dtml document "form3": it cannot find row_items -- i don't understand why, I thought namespaces where stacked on top of each other, can someone help please. From document to document you have to pass your form variables, since the Web is stateless, or you use some Session Product. This behavior has nothing to do with Zope. It is all HTTP. Just create a hidden input field called "row_items" in form2. In case row_items is a list, you can do the following in your form2 document: <dtml-in row_items> <input type="hidden" name="row_items:list" value="<dtml-var sequence-item>"> </dtml-in> That will insure that row_items is passed to the last form. BTW, that method works well, I use it all the time. I guess I should look into sessions one day. Hi! Yippee: yes, the encapsulation works! though I began with the initial <dtml-if>, continued with the <dtml-with> lines, and then added the redirect calls at the end before closing the <dtml-if>. Thank you! But: the little test method worked better once I asked for a variable other than "id" to display. With "id," I kept getting "Catalog," no matter what indexed value I specified. If I typed in another variable for display, like "rank," I got the proper thing. This means the test method was telling Zope to look for the id in the namespace defined by the <dtml-in> tag, not the namespace of the zclass instance -- have I got that right? __del__ not being called.

For some reason, in my product, the __del__(self) is not being called when I delete an instance of it.. I currently have it defined as: def __del__(self): raise "DEBUG", "TEST" Just to see what is going on... Any ideas? --John
