I have the following in an edit method for a custom ZClass. Everything seems to be working okay except for that the bobobase_modification_time doesn't seem to get updated in my catalog (called "article_catalog", not the default). Articles can be added, viewed, and updated, and after this code runs, all the properties are properly updated (including the bobobase time stamp). The problem is that the updated bobobase time stamp is not reflected in the catalog (in spite of all the other properties being recataloged properly). I'm at wits end. Anyhow...here's a snippet of the code I'm using: ...  <dtml-if "article_status == 'Accepted'">    To: Editorial Staff <<dtml-var editorial_staff>> From: Site Admin <<dtml-var admin_staff>> Subject: ACCEPTED The following article was Accepted by <dtml-var editor>. <dtml-var title> <dtml-var baseurl>posts/<dtml-var id>  The article was ACCEPTED. <a href="<dtml-var baseurl>posts/status_list?post_status=Pending"> View list of Pending Stories</a> ... As you might suspect, different things are done if the article post_status is "Rejected" or "Pending". As I said, the bobobase_modification_time of the article itself is updated, but the new modification time is not reflected in the catalog. - deb

Mailing lists available on a news server

I notice that Mozilla has its mailing lists available for reading from a news server on mozilla.org. I'm not sure whether you can post to it too -- I assume so, and that there is a two-way gateway between the news and the mail. Any chance of zope.org having a similar arrangement? I know the mail archives are available in various formats already, but I want a way to read some mailing lists occasionally, that doesn't intrude on my inbox. -- Steve Alexander Software Engineer Cat-Box limited

creating a generic field gadget

To help me with the tedious business of creating forms, I would like to make a generic field gadget. I thus have a dtml-document which has a number of attributes: Eg: fieldname = 'userid' fieldname-error = 'userid-error' But I now want this dtml-document when rendered to read the values of fieldname, and fieldname-error, and then generate the dtml equivalent to this ... <dtml-if userid> value="<dtml-var userid>" </dtml-if>> <dtml-if userid-error> <dtml-var userid-error> </dtml-if> Clues? newbie Q.stylesheet 'title'

The 'title' that appears to the right of an object in a folder Does this need to be included in a style sheet for access. I have been messing around with the zope zclasses howto and notice the use of RTC to generate unique "id"'s to add some meaning to this they also use "title" eg. if one created a zope method and gave it a title how does this differ from the title definded in a style sheet. brad

(this wouldn't deal with quotes right). I haven't run into the name="mynum:int" problem yet, but maybe that's just luck, or maybe it's just because of my particular forms. The bad part is that I don't know of any way to pass POST data on a redirect (anybody know how to do this, or is this impossible?), so for now I just have a form that's nothing but a Submit widget with all the other dat a hidden. You can of course change it all into GET data and just join them together using: '%s=%s' % (url_quote_plus(name), url_quote_plus(data)) and joinging with &, in which case you actually can do a redirect, but presumably someone made it POST for a reason, so I'm not going to mess with it. It's an inelegant solution and might not work for everything, but it's all I have for now! Andrew

Using sql to search in zope

Hi All, I tried to build a search feature using sql in zope, this is what I normal do in sql to do a range search : select * from table1 where table1_id = %field1_value% But when I try it with zope, it will become select * from table1 where table1_id = %'value'% Which return an error : [ODBC Microsoft Access 97 Driver] Syntax error in query expression 'table1_id alike %'field1_value'%'.") Any idea or work around ?? Please help Cheers Wai
