Hi, I was just upgrading one of our Zope-installations from 2.3.3 to 2.4.2 and noticed that after upgrade DocumentLibrary has some problems. And DocumentFile-products work ok. Heh! This perhaps should not be an e-mail I forward to the project supervisor to help leverage Zope then, huh? (Of course, knowing that authors tend to be their own worst critics, too!) I'll certainly keep the URL for ASP-based redirection on hand; though I'm somewhat worried about the caveat at the end of the document about URLs... but that is only based on the fact that I personally can't try things out, I'm required to hand things off to the admin for implementation; with each "hardship" endured causing a mark against Zope. Unpack the files in the tar-ball (including directory) into the zope/lib/python/products folder. Restart your server, that's it. Greetings, Antwan. application design questions

Hi, after playing for some time with Zope, it is time to rewrite my application from the bottom up. However, I am looking for some high-level design guidelines. Most of the documents are of the form "how to get product X working", but I am looking for high level documentation about: - how to make sure the application is portable and behaves nice - what functionality to put where (database/python/dtml/ZPT) - what data to store where? (right now I put the relational data in Postgresql, and large things like pictures and PDF's in ZDB) - general to do's and don'ts - how to set up a real nice distinction between presentation and functionality I have a copy of the Zope book, but again this goes more into the technical details instead of design issues like this.. [ Help ] Management with user without Manager-role, but all the permissions

Hi, this is a problem that I seem to stumble and don't find a solution. I have a user with a role, that has actually all the roles set in the Management screens. User gets into the management screens, but can't for example edit Images or Files - even though he has permissions to do so. When clicking image in ZMI user gets to see the Image, not the manage_edit - screen. Wtf? Zope version is 2.3.2 -huima

Keeping track of frames

I have a standard three frame layout (side_bar navigation, top_bar header, and the rest content). Each frame can load different html sources. The problem how do I know which html src is open each frame. If I click on netscape 'page info' I get a list of each frame and its contents. Is this information available to a zope ? Chris

Adding new Zope Users no longer works!

When we first installed Zope, adding a user who was set up as a 'manager' for a particular folder worked fine. However, recently this process has suddenly stopped working, regardless of the name, password, domain or responsibility levels involved. We can create a new user fine within the relevant acl_user folder, but when we try and log in as that person, Zope complains (after three attempts) that the username and password are incorrect, when they aren't. Help!?!
