METAL "incompatible version" error

I'm trying to use ZPT for the first time, in Zope 2.4.2. I keep getting this error when trying to view a document using a macro:: TAL.TALDefs.METALError: macro 'here/master' has incompatible version None, at line 1, column 1 Anyone have a clue what that's about? The document calling the macro is very simple:: <html metal:use-macro="here/master"> <head><title>Foo</title></head> <body> <div metal:fill-slot="body">Lots of body text here</div> </body> </html> Someone emailed about the same problem a month ago, and no one answered; I'm hoping someone can offer a clue this time. TimeError when using fmt="%Y-%m-%d"

Hi all This snippet generates a TimeError (I've appended the traceback below):: <input name="FirstContactDate" value="<dtml-var FirstContactDate fmt="%Y-%m-%d">" size="10"> This, however, works fine:: <input name="FirstContactDate" value="<dtml-var FirstContactDate fmt="year" >-<dtml-var FirstContactDate fmt="month" >-<dtml-var FirstContactDate fmt="day">" size="10"> The fmt="%Y-%m-%d" idiom works fine elsewhere in my code. more problems and whishes with inner links in structured text

Good morning, Working with structured text and a non ASCII characterset brought up some more problems and ideas: - I could not set -L starting Zope neither on Windoze nor Linux. So I just added the umlauts I need in STleters.py. This seems to work for the moment. - Creating inner links with non ASCII characters now creates an unusable target. That means ST has to filter the links and delete forbidden characters. - Innerlinks are meant to create footnotes. Therefore they are not very suitable to create tables of content with hyperlinks pointing to the topic within the document. There are two shortcomings: First no spaces are allowed which in a title is not acceptable. Second the [] to denote link and target are not removed. Which is ugly Would it be acceptable to create two more formats: .. [.] and [.] They are equivalent to .. [] and []. However they allow spaces and remove themselves. I could submit the two (if Andreas does not think it would be easier to do them himself) Robert

Hi Normally you would call the recursive method form a DTML Source. In this source you would write <dtml-let aa=0><dtml-var a></dtml-let>. This gives you a "global" variable. I used it and it works. I would also suggest to use external Python for recursion because DTML-recursion is VERY slow! How can I check a user_acl folder to see if a user already exists?

Here's the setup: I'm trying to add users to my site by having them fill out a form with the following fields: Username Password Confirm (password confirmation) I want the form to post to a python script that will check the folder and do a redirect to another document depending on what happens... I don't know Python that well. I've tried doing it in dtml with no results. Can someone help me with a little example code or at least point me to a product that does this? Thanks in advance. -Rob

specifying "value" in Formulator form

ZopeTime Error

I install a calendar product call SempoiCalendar on our company's site which call the ZopeTime().date() == date.Date() method to check for the current date and highlight that event. When i loggin as a manager of the site, i can view the calendar just fine. Howerver, when i loggin as a regular user i get the error listed below. i gave the user the following security priviliges: 1. Access Contents Info 2. View 3. Add SempoiCalendar Item It seems like the user does not have permission to access the ZopeTime method, only a Manager can. The user can view other section of the calendar that does not call on the ZopeTime() method. Can anyone give me a clue on how to fix this please? Thanks for any suggestions. Mike: I just rechecked my Zope installation (2.3.1 on Linux (Debian)). I do not set special pemission for Anonymous (or anyone else) to access ZopeTime. Are you sure that ZopeTime is the problem? This hasn't come up on the listgroup in the past and ZopeTime is rather old. I would look elsewhere than ZopeTime. Something else must be amiss. Are you starting Zope as root, but running as nobody? Do you have the file permissions set correctly in the installation? Capturing a Varied Variable

Hi; An image that is called in a css document is generated by a certain dtml method which randomly calls other dtml methods (which each reference a specific image) out of a certain folder. I need to reference the name of the method in the framed document; however, if I simply re-call the dtml method that randomly calls the others, I'll end up with 2 different documents (and therefore names), and I must reference the same document.
