PDF from external method

Hi, how can I pass a pdf generated by an external method (using Reportlab) back to Zope? Has anybody done this with Reportlab before? I am new to Python, Zope and Reportlab and I wanted to try one of those demo scripts coming with the Reportlab Installation. How to Use Javascript returns in DTML tags

I am trying to simply use the return (rfqNumber) from a Javascript script as a variable in a DTML tag (see code below). I've also tried placing the Javascript code in-line to the DTML, as well as trying to encapsulating the script in a DTML method. None of this seems to work. Yes, I am fairly new to DTML (and Zope, for that matter). I have seen articles on how to pass arguments from DTML to Javascript functions, but not on how to use Javascript returns in DTML. Can anyone point, push, or drag me in the right direction? Siteroot weirdness

Hello, my ISP has installed SiteRoot on my website. To work offline I imported website.zexp but the Siteroot, even after deleting the siteroot object on my localhost machine, wants me to authenticate and the Zclasses, like I can see in the statusbar, show the online -url. I've packed ZODB and also restarted ZServer and also my browsers. Thanks.

Zope, IIS, one designer and one admin

Hello; Currently my workplace is experimenting with using Zope (on NT) to serve or corporate Intranet. For the last while we've been prototyping everything on a test-server for now in a self-contained way (using ZServer to dish up the pages). Now we are taking a second step and trying to test Zope using IIS (version 4, I believe) to act as the webserver using pcgi. This is where things begin to get a bit sticky as I've got a reasonable amount of familiarity with Zope now, but almost none with NTServer or IIS. Working with our Admin, we went through the instructions of configuring Zope/IIS though still seem to be running into problems. (The available document, the IIS How-To on Zope.org is a bit dated, perhaps? A few of the steps differ from the ones we had to perform on our server; such as the location of the registry key we had to edit, etc). One of the items that troubles me is that perhaps I've also complicated issues by using an external version of Python (we needed to install the win32 Python extensions for some of our Zope products, which in turn required an external version of python), so I don't absolutely know if our configuration is correct or not! If we try to access Zope via http://webtest/cgi-bin/Zope.pcgi without Zope running we get an error from Zope.pcgi that indicates it is working correctly on that end. When we start Zope and try to access it we typically get an error message on the Zope console (CMD/DOS-Window). Then it usually starts a pcgi-wrapper.exe process which then sits around using 99% of the CPU and can't be killed by an 'End Task'. Unfortunately, this seems to be doing little to gain the confidence of the Admin I am working with (he distrusts the lack of "available documentation"). I'd like to be able to pinpoint where the problem is without having to constantly bother the admin over and over again to try different options, just to ease aggravation. Unit Testing

Has somebody successfully used ZUnit to test a TTW Zope Product and if you have can you give me some pointers. I thought if I could get a handle on Zope.app() in 'n TestSuite then one should be able to test methods in Zope quite easily. The only variable that seems to expose a bit of the zope context is ZopeContext but that points only to the TestFolderInstance and I can't get a handle on any other objects. Or should one stick with ZPublisher.Test? Roché

FileStorageFormatError

I performed a normal shutdown of my Linux box (for reasons unrelated to Zope). When I rebooted the server, Zope could not start. The traceback is below. I can find no documentation of this error. Any ideas of what I can do? Or why this happened? Zope appeared to be running normally before I shutdown the server. Yet another newbie question!

As a total newbie I'm struggling to get to grips with dtml etc. I'm really puzzled by that following: the following line works fine in my application: <dtml-with expr="French.Folder1"> and so does this: <dtml-let nodename="'French'"> <dtml-with expr="_.getitem(nodename,1)"> but if I try: nodename="'French.Folder1'" <dtml-with expr="_.getitem(nodename,1)"> it doesn't work! In the interests of my receding hairline, can anyone offer an explanation?
