It is the first time only, now it is starting faster (but still a bit slow, like you say). I suppose that's because python is slower in windows than in Linux. Add property to DTML Document, not via a script?

Hello all, I've got this: Root Folder --AddPlayer (DTML Method) --AddPlayerScript (Python Script) --Players (Folder) --Player1 (DTML Document) --Player2 (DTML Document) --... To add a player (DTMLDocument) in the Players folder and then add a property to the newly created DTMLDocument I needed to take refuge to calling the Python script (as is shown in chapter 5 of the Zope Book). Could someone give me the 'DTML translation' of the script so that I can keep the functionality together in the AddPlayer DTMLMethod? I think I would need something like <dtml-call expr="Player3.manage_addProperty('Score', 0.00, 'float')"> but with something instead of the hardcoded 'Player3'. Zope SybaseDA not being loaded

After compiling from source and following all instructions by the readme file my zope server is not able to load SybaseDA as a product. This is the message which appears instead: File "/usr/src/packages/BUILD/Zope-2.3.1-src/lib/python/OFS/Application.py".... Dtml-in start=CST object not working

Please, oh please can someone tell me why this doesn't seem to work? <dtml-in "getLG2(lg1=sData.get('key1'))" size=12 orphan=0 sort=value start=sData.get('tmStart'))> <dtml-if previous-sequence><dtml-call "sData.set('tmPrev', _['previous-sequence-start-number'])"></dtml-if> .. .. .. <dtml-if next-sequence><dtml-call "sData.set('tmNext', _['next-sequence-start-number'])"></dtml-if> </dtml-in> sData is a CST 0.9 integer object. I'm trying to assign the proper sequence-next/previous values to a URL In order to put the NEXT and PREVIOUS buttons anywhere on the page (next to each other inside the interface instead of either side of the form) The tmNext/Prev variables are then set in a skin to set the sData.get('tmStart') value as an integer, then the next load should feed this into the start mechanism of the dtml-in. I'm able to see that an integer is set to sData at the right time, but the In loop doesn't use the value to start from. If I change it for a static number, then of course the whole thing works properly, but I'm lost why I cant take this from the request? I also tried setting these objects as normal REQUEST items, but it still doesn't work. please and thank you, Paul Zwarts

Hi Jens, I got the same result with your example ie. the test.svg can be "Viewed" but when it is included in index_html, only the text message is displayed. Zope newbee fighting with manage_addNewFile

Hi, I've build the Zoo Example form the Zope book, but instead of guest list I want to add documents (that means a document list instead of guest list) I done a context.manage_addFile(id, title="test", file=path), where "path" is given by a dtml form. But this only creates files containing one single string indentically to "path", nothing to see from the content of the file. What's going wrong ? Permissions are set correctly, I think. Thanks ! Python objects reference?

After receiving a snippet of python script, I finally decided to have a closer look at that language, and I was surprised how simple and comfortable it is. I think I'll like it! But: Where can I find a reference for the objects I can use in those scripts? I received the following snippet: try: my_index = context.dirIndex. except: my_index = 0 But I only want my_index to become 0 when the object and ONLY then object, i. e. without acquisition, has the prop dirIndex. s. th. like in DTML: <dtml-if "_.hasattr(aq_explicit,'dirIndex')"> Can anyone help me please? Where can I get information about python script? I looked at python.org, but didn't find what I was looking for... AddFolder Question

I want to add a folder programmatically I want to create the following tree Projects NewName Scripts The name of the Project - "NewName" is passed in the variable Project from a form When I use this alone all is well <dtml-call "Projects.manage_addFolder( Project )"> When I add the the Scripts folder I <dtml-call "Projects._[ Project ].manage_addFolder( 'Scripts' )"> I get a Authentication error. Install zope windows

Having 2.4.1 working well on Linux, I am installing it now under windows 98. But something is failing. During the installation, a MSDOS windows open, with: ---------------------- Compiling python modules and no output it is taking several minutes, with no output, and then it keeps on installing. When I launch "start.bat" from explorer, a msdos window opens with E:\Archivos de programa\zopewin>"E:\Archivos de programa\zopewin\bin\python.exe" "E:\Archivos de programa\zopewin\z2.py" -D and no more output. And Zope doesn't start. I am using Windows 98 Spanish (under VMware virtual machine). Zope 2.4.1 binary for windows -- __o _ \<_ (_)/(_) Saludos de Julián EA4ACL -.-
