problem getting vars out of query string

Hi, All. If I type an url with querystring parameters into my browser I can access the variables just fine with DTML. But if I post to an url with querystring parameters they are not visible in DTML. For example: <form action="index_html?var1=10&var2=20" method="post"> When submitting that form, var1 and var2 are not visible in index_html. Newbie -- using DTML methods from ZPT

Hi all I am trying to call a dtml-method document to create a tree object from a page template. Unfortunately all it does is print some static text included in the method and does not display the tree. I am using: method tree3 Is this the right syntax or am I completely missing the boat here. Is Structured Text Broken in Zope 2.4x ???

Im a Zope newbie who is hoping to more-or-less adopt New Religion from the start. Structured Text is a very attractive feature of Zope, but Ive found some major problems with the Structured Text implementation in Zope 2.4x, and I suspect that many others must have encountered the same issues. My current testing is with Zope 2.4.1 on Windows 2000. I can easily create Structured Text documents (say "stxdoc.stx") in the members areas of www.zope.org and cmf.zope.org that html-render as documented and expected. However those same documents render significantly differently on my local installation of Zope 2.4.1 when called from a dtml document or dtml method: <dtml-var stxdoc.stx fmt="structured-text"> Specifically, hierarchical bulleted and numbered lists (i.e. outlines) render with ugly spacing and tables don't render at all. A possible patch for the spacing problem appears in a comment by datagrok at the bottom of this ZWiki page: http://www.zope.org//Members/jim/StructuredTextWiki/TightParagraphStructure… Additional info on the lack of table rendering appears in this post: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-September/100485.html Additional Zope 2.4.x Structured Text issues are documented by Ivan Kurmanov in this post: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-October/100763.html and by Simon Brunning in this post: http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-September/100498.html However, an even much more severe problem lurks in Zope 2.4x. That is that the structured-text() method in Products.PythonScripts.standard is badly, badly broken. In addition to the problems listed above, this method doesnt html-render links. (i.e. "link name:http://mydomain.com does *not* cook into <a href=http://mydomain.com>link name</a> , but rather the input text is copied without any cooking at all!) The method also sometimes performs incorrect double html_quoting. For example, structured text that is indented following a paragraph ending in a double colon (::) , is properly cooked into a <pre></pre> tag in the html output. Unfortunately however, the *content* of the tag is html_quoted *twice* in the output. This is quite bad news, because the structured_text method in PythonScripts is specifically needed for the convenient use of structured text from Zope Page Templates and restricted Python Scripts: Rendering structured text from a Zope Page Template: Rendering structured text from a restricted Script (Python): # Import the standard method "structured_text()" from Products.PythonScripts.standard import structured_text # return a cooked page from a structured text source file print structured_text(getattr(context, "stxdoc.stx")) return printed These bugs appear to be a significant barrier to practical use of Zope Page Templates. Am I missing something? Is the problem simply that StructuredTextNG was used in Zope 2.4x before it was fully debugged? Should Zope just revert to ClassicStructuredText (which was at least stable)? 2.4.1 slower than 2.3.2 on Win2K?

Hi All, I just upgraded our Zope (running on Win 2000 Server Service Pack 2) from 2.3.2 to 2.4.1 and pages loading over the LAN now take around 4 seconds to appear rather than 1 second or so. Has anyone else seen this sort of performance hit on upgrading? Or am I oversimplifying, or expecting too much? addImage and manage_addImage problem

Hi there, I am trying to make a picture gallery management webpage using zope and I have some questions. I am trying to write something that people can upload their images and annotate them as they are uploading them. In the beginning I used the function manage_addImage(...) to upload the image of user. But I found that if I can use the addImage(...) function to upload the images, the users can have more options of their annotations. For example, users can annotate their own descriptions, unlike the manage_addImage(...) functions only take the arguments of the title and the file. I was trying to find out what kind of objects can use the function addImage(...) instead of manage_addImage(...)? Because I have tried the ZCatalog and ZPhotoblbum objects and it gives me an "attribute error" when I use addImage function. But manage_addImage(...) function works for all the objects. By the way, the manage_addImage function is in the Image.py module in OFS folder, and the addImage function is in the Image.py module in CMFDefault folder. Please give me some suggestions. Thank you. I had lots of problems with zope installed in Program Files. I don't think that the "Service" function likes long filenames. When I installed in a nice 8 letter directory in the root, I breezed through. ProxyPass and Virtual Subhosting

Hello, I have a question which may not be fully related to zope, but it is more to do with the way apache is set up -- appologies in advance. Here is what I am trying to do. I want to be able to register 2 domains domain1.com and domain2.com. I want both the domain names to point to the same public ip 300.300.300.1 I want to have 3 Severs, Server A, Server B, and Server C. Server A is the only server with a public IP(300.300.300.1) Server B and Server C have internal IPs, 192.168.0.2 and 192.168..0.3 Now, Server A is to receive all the public request(technically it has to since it has the public IP) for the domain domain1.com and domain2.com. However I want to host domain1.com on Server B, and domain1.com on Server C. I would like for Server A to take the request and then forward it on the appropriate server. ZMI request to change Add Folder options

I dont know where to submit a comment like this other than this list. This is pure usability opinion... When creating a Folder in the ZMI... Request to change: 1. include a button to immediately open the folder you have created. (consistent with the "Add and Edit" option with methods, scripts and documents). USE CASE: "If I am creating a folder, most of the time I am ready to use it, and it is inconvenient to have to go back to the current container--- scroll --- and find the new folder" 2. a. either change "Create public interface" to create a DTML-method named index_html instead of a DTML-Document b. or allow you to choose, by a radio button or a default setting in Zope Current Situation: 1. selecting "Create public interface" creates a DTML-Document named index_html Thanks for any attention to this, Trevor
