Converting File/Image to ExtFile/ExtImage

Hello, We have a Zope system where we have a fairly large number of Image and File objects uploaded. To conserve space (we tried to educate users, but that didn't work :-(), we've decided to switch to an ExtFile/ExtImage based system. All that works fine. However, is there any way to script the conversion from File -> ExtFile and Image -> ExtImage? Whenever I try to call manage_addExtFile, it gives an IOError: ''''Python script to File->ExtFile""" for file in context.objectValues(['File']): context.manage_delObjects([file.getId(),], REQUEST=context.REQUEST) context.manage_addProduct['ExtFile'].manage_addExtFile(file.getId(),file.tit le, descr='',file.data,file.content_type,REQUEST=None) Error is like File C:\ZOPESITE\Products\ExtFile\ExtFile.py, line 101, in manage_addExtFile (Object: LockableItem) File C:\ZOPESITE\Products\ExtFile\ExtFile.py, line 371, in manage_file_upload (Object: CatalogAware) File C:\ZOPESITE\Products\ExtFile\ExtFile.py, line 472, in _copy (Object: CatalogAware) IOError: (see above) I'm on a Zope 2.4.1 system on Windows 98 with ExtFile/Image 1.1.3... dtml-tree and dictionaries

Hello! Forgive me if this one has alredy been asked and answered before. Is it (and in case how is it) possible to create/code a tree from a python dictionary (mine beeing 4 levels deep (dict in dict in ...)) using dtml-tree? A firewall is the best solution. Other than hacking ZServer, write an Access Rule to block certain IP's. Does Zserver have any way of preventing/restricting certain IP address. I see the paramter in Z2.PY # This is the IP address of the network interface you want your servers to # be visible from. This can be changed to '' to listen on all interfaces. IP_ADDRESS='' Can I have multiple IP_ADRESS statements. Basically I want to block a certain range. Perhaps a 2nd firewall is more effective. How do make my owen "binary distribution"?

Ok, so I can cd to the source directory and "python wo_pcgi.py" and build everything. But somehow other people have made binary distributions. How can I do the same so I can just copy the executables to my web server? (Yes, this is a rewording of my previous problem. I have no compiler on the Web server, I only want to copy the minimal stuff to it. ZOQL Method 0.3.0 released

Hello everyone, Yes, it is me... again. I was on the role today and implemented a couple more features: 1. I added support for ALTER. You can now add, rename and delete properties from ZClass objects and any sort of other object instance, that supports the standard Property Manager or Property Sheet interface. 2. I added a XML-RPC-friendly execution method to the ZOQL Method class, which allows us to use the ZOQL Method as a server component, since you can send new commands directly to the interpreter. 3. Based on the XML-RPC support, I wrote a complete Command Line Client. You can use the client to execute queries from a file or use the interactive command line, similar to the PostGreSQL and Python interactive interpreter. There is also a nice help coming with the product. It can be run totally independent of the rest of the ZOQL Method, since it does not depend on any of the other modules. I also created a ** Mailing List ** and prepared a ** Poll **, where people can tell me what they think about the product! Please send me everything, good or bad! Had to jump in with a quick comment. The ZQR (Zope Quick Reference) is my personal favorite. Outdated, lacking in many details, etc., but it is the one reference that is always within reach whenever I am working with Zope. It is what it is...a quick reference. Details are elsewhere. I use it everyday. I wish it had been kept up with. Updating Squishdot

Hello! Hope anyone can tell me how I can update a Squishdot 0.3.2 (!) Site to 1.0.0 or 1.3.0 . If I follow the steps for updating described at http://www.squishdot.org/Documentation/upgrades.html then I would need to update... from 0.3.2 to 0.4.0 then from 0.4.0 to 0.4.1 then from 0.4.1 (directly) to 0.7.x then finaly from 0.7.x to 1.0.0. I would need the Version 0.4.0, 0.4.1, 0.7.x from Squisdot, don't I? But they no more on that Site! Could you please help me out? Thanx in advance Tran Huy Nguyen

Problems with product installation

Actually, since Zope 2.4 was released, I've had many installation problems with many products.
