Hi, We have a group developing a web-based application using mySQL as the backend and Zope as the "frontend." The app contains 16 forms, lot's of writes, and few reads. The forms contain 5-16 fields. The app requires minimal security. We are running Zope 2.4 on NT. We are looking for general advice on any procedures or processes that are routinely used for this type of a form based application. accessing REMOTE_ADDR

Hi everyone, I've been messing around with my Apache config and the ProxyVia directive and searching the mailing list archive. I have yet to find the definitive answer to this question: Is it possible to retrieve the actual IP address of the site visitor when using Zope with Apache ProxyPass or Rewrite rules (without patching Apache)? Has anyone had success with this? I'm running Zope 2.3.2 on Linux with Apache 1.3.19. No matter what I try REMOTE_ADDR is still 127.0.0.1 and HTTP_VIA still contains the domain of my Web server. Getting a python list from an HTML Form

I'm having trouble getting a list into a python script from an HTML form. The form itself has: <FORM ACTION="send_docket_msg" METHOD="POST" ENCTYPE="multipart/form-data"> </FORM> Incidentally, <TEXTAREA NAME="cc_list:list" COLS="40" ROWS="6"></TEXTAREA> .. makes no difference. When I get to my python script and run... S = '' x = 0 for y in cc_list: if y <> '': S = S + 'Sending e-mail to ' + y + '\n' x = x + 1 ..the result is that S is the entire contents of cc_list and it only goes through the loop once, regardless of how many lines were in cc_list. Is there a way to take a textarea result and somehow have the python script see it as a list or use a function to turn it into a list? Thanks to all in advance, Ron

Zope and mime types ???

Hi, I have a problem with Zope and mime types. I have Zope 2.4.1 running behind Apache web server and the product I use is the DocumentLibrary. Th DL determines the type of document by analyzing the content type. When I upload a Word document from a machine where Word is installed the correct type 'application/msword' is found. But uploading the same file from a PC without a Word installation the 'application/octet-stream' type is determined. Now I am totally confused about content types and mime types. I hope some can answer the following questions: 1. Is this a normal behaviour? 2. How does Zope determine the content / mime type? 3. How does Zope determine the content / mime type when running behind Apache? TIA Frank

override modification_time at manual entry?

I have some old diary entries which I'd like to move into a ZWiki. ZWiki doesn't have any explicit date fields, it just uses the standard modification_time for RecentChanges listings. What would I have to do to make a form where I could create a new ZWiki page and have a datetime field on it which would become the initial modification_time for that object? Am I going to be able to add a field to the form, add a single line of code or so to map the fieldname to the object property? Or is Zope going to object to that property being touched by anything other than its internals?
