When a number is the id of a folder

In Zope, I can create a folder with the id "1" But then, I can't call it through a python script container.1.anything() gives "invalid syntax" -- __o _ \<_ (_)/(_) Saludos de Julián EA4ACL -.-

Hi again I played arround with threads and the interval options of Zope. I've started Zope with "-t 13" and "-i 10". Somehow this seems to help somewhat with concurrent access. Now I'd like to know why. I couldn't find a clear explanation. Maybe somebody can help and give me insight. If there are other solutions / hints out there I'm interested! Escaoe " in string

Hello, How do you escape " in a <dtml-call> ?? What I need to do is this: <dtml-call "REQUEST.set('head', '<meta name="author" content="' + author + '" />')"> Off cource this gives me an error :-( I have tried with adding a \ in front of the "'s but it doesn't help. As Code Red/Nimda use their own "client" implementation AFAIK, it surprises me that they follow redirects. Are you sure that this really helped for Code Red? How do you measure if it helped? Upgrading on Windows

I want to upgrade Zope 2.2.4 to Zope 2.3.2. I do not want to move to 2.4 yet. I have tried to use the How-to upgrade zope 2.x but it was of very little help....has anyone done it successfully??

restrictedTraverse

I was doing a little test on zope 2.4.1, and the method restrictedTraverse(path, default=None) doesn't give None if it doesn't find the object and you don't specify None on the second parameter, as it could be waited reading the Zope Book (page 286) (I'm newbie, not sure) -- __o _ \<_ (_)/(_) Saludos de Julián EA4ACL -.-

Hi, I have a ZClass with a PropertySheet and now I want to create a form with some of these fields so that the user can edit the values. manage_createEditor returns a form with all the fields for a PropertySheet and does this by calling _edit_widget_for_type. _edit_widget_for_type basically does what I want, but is private. I've had this problem too. Instead of checking for length, I check to see if the first item on the list is <> ''. If there is nothing in the first item, then I assume that it is an empty list. For the most part, the assumption is valid. for x in my_list: if x <> '': # do something... Help with Zope Install Errors?

I am running into errors while trying to install Zope on a RedHat 7.1 servers. I have tried installing Zope on two servers and get the same errors on both servers. I want to run Zserver as a separate server apart from the Apache web server which is running on port 80. I am installing the Zope-2.4.1-linux2-x86.tgz binary. Can anyone help me? When I run ./install, I get the following errors: Compiling python modules File "/usr/local/zope/lib/python2.1/test/nocaret.py", line 2 [x for x in x] = x SyntaxError: can't assign to list comprehension SyntaxError: from __future__imports must occur at the beginning of the file (test_future3.py, line 3) SyntaxError: from __future__imports must occur at the beginning of the file (test_future4.py, line 3) SyntaxError: from __future__imports must occur at the beginning of the file (test_future5.py, line 4) SyntaxError: from __future__imports must occur at the beginning of the file (test_future6.py, line 3) SyntaxError: from __future__imports must occur at the beginning of the file (test_future7.py, line 3) Then, it seems to creates the inituser, default database, pcgi resource file, start script, and stop script without error. When I run ./start, the Zserver seems to start. I receive instructions about :8080 and :8021 ports, but then I get the following error: PANIC (300) x2 Startup Exception Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/zope/z2.py. line 757, in ? IOError: [Errno 13] Permission Denied: '/usr/local/zope/var/Z2.pid' I have doubled check the permissions. Every file under /usr/local/zope/ is owned by root:users. What might be going on? Of course, when I try to open the zope program via a web browser, the error says that the server was not located.
