I have a linux mandrake 8.1 system with Zope 2.4.3. I intend to install the Oracle DBMS and connect to it using ZOracleDA. Is there a possibility that some ZOracleDA Product will work with Oracle 8.1.7? What about the new Oracle 9i? Has anyone experience with some installation that works and please give the cooperating product versions (Zope, Oracle, ZOracleDA)? TIA, Panos Hilaris

I think I remember it compiling when installing (I saw a batch file runing right at the end). I think it is counting uptime and downtime in terms of seconds(or some sort of time measurement). So if the total time the server has been running is 100 hours, and it was down for 3 one hour periods, then uptime would be reported as 4 days, 1 hour (97 hours total). Downtime would be 3 hours. I agree, there were 1-3 days where services were interrupted in this example. So this uptime stat I ran does consider a reboot downtime, but measures time more granularly than days. This box is an Intranet server, so netcraft is not appropriate. If you are running zope as a service, you must make the change in the registry. On my w2k box: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\<service name>\Parameters The Parameters key contains the path to your python, and the path to the zope script, usually z2.py. ZCatalog: UnKeywordIndex error

Hi all Does anyone have any idea why this code:: WHEN OBJECT CHANGED CALL Catalog.uncatalog_object(_.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')) , Catalog.catalog_object( self , _.string.join(self.getPhysicalPath(),'/')) would trigger this error:: 2001-12-12T08:21:11 ERROR(200) UnKeywordIndex unindex_object could not remove documentId 1144296079 from index ComponentVersions. This should not happen. Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/zope/2-3-0/lib/python/SearchIndex/UnIndex.py, line 236, in removeForwardIndexEntry KeyError: 1144296079 (in /home/httpd/zope-instances/dev-creme/var/z2.log). The snippet of SkinScript above is triggered by this call in a python script:: license_propertysheet = license.propertysheets.basic license_propertysheet.manage_changeProperties( SystemReminders = system_reminders) When I look at documentId 1144296079 in the catalog, it's fine http://blommie:11080/Catalog/manage_objectInformation?rid=1144296079 'ComponentVersions' is the first index. Calls to manage_changeProperties works fine from methods of the License ZClass, and from the Licenses specialist. The call that's giving trouble is in a different specialist (Reminders). I tried installing Zope on a 95machine on that setup and running it. installed OK, froze up on startup. I tried installing TCP/IP on few machines and installing Zope on that. Still no luck. I can't even PING machines with new TCP/IP settings. Can I just run Zope using current IPX/SPX settings? Can I put TCP/IP on one win95 machine and use that IP in my browser without giving ALL the machines IP numbers? or do I have to run Zope in a Novell Shared folder somehow? Have got Zope 2.5.0b2 installed on Windows 98 and have had no problems so far. However, I notice the version of Python that is used is 2.1.0 I have ActivePython 2.2 installed, how can I get Zope to use that version of Python instead of the one it ships with? I have modified the startup batch file to read: C:\Python22\python.exe "C:\Program Files\WebSite\z2.py" -W:9800 But that does not seem to work Any ideas? I have also seen the file pythonw.exe as well as python.exe, what is the difference.
