Help! To make a long story short, I managed to delete the manager account in my Root folder and now have no access to my system. There must be a file somewhere within the zope package that I can manually edit and possibly put through the encryption process so that the next time I bring up the server, there will be some username and password that does get recognized. I had not created an emergency login, so that is not an option for me either. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Need to use eval()?

Zope 2.4.3 and Oracle database

I have a linux mandrake 8.1 system with Zope 2.4.3. I intend to install the Oracle DBMS and connect to it using ZOracleDA. Is there a possibility that some ZOracleDA Product will work with Oracle 8.1.7? What about the new Oracle 9i? Has anyone experience with some installation that works and please give the cooperating product versions (Zope, Oracle, ZOracleDA)? TIA, Panos Hilaris

ZCatalog: finding a match "in" an index

Hi all Hopefully this one is a complete no-brainer .. I have an index called 'AssignedTo', currently a FieldIndex, containing lists like ['jean', 'isak']. I want to do a selection based on this index:: <dtml-let brains="Reminders.getRemindersFiltered( AssignedTo = AUTHENTICATED_USER.getUserName() )"> But that doesn't work. Is there a way to ask whether something is 'in' AssignedTo? Or would making AssignedTo a TextIndex solve my problem? Regards, Jean

cannot import html_quote?

I am getting broken products from the Zope website that seem to be breaking because they cannot import html_quote. Check out: http://www.zope.org/Members/andym/ZSyncer Haven't used it, but it looks to be the best option for a 'staging' content production model. Works via XML-RPC, and I would do this over HTTPS/SSL because of plain-text passwords, but that's because I am paranoid about plain-text passwords for management access; I'm not sure what Imeme provides in the SSL regard, but I'm guessing that they can likely answer that question for you. How can I make this easier? * Can I do a "clobber" type of import, like I could do with an FTP site, for example -- just replace the files I upload, but leave others intact? * Could I do a date-based export (i.e. export the objects that have changed since the previous upload, and overload that after I do my main import?) * Is there an "officially sanctioned zope method" for merging content from the local site into the new site? * Can I do something like this with ZEO? I know it's set up to do it automatically, but I want to do it only on demand, when I'm ready to commit my changes. * Can I write something in Zope/python to make it easier? (Well, obviously the answer is 'yes', but I'm looking for hints here :) ). * Could I somehow do this with CVS? I get the impression that Zope's change-control system is supposed to replace CVS, not work with it, but I'm very new at this. * I just saw something in the documentation about "sessions" which seems similar in concept, but I don't know if it's appropriate. zope 'hangs' - queries only

Hi all, As i experienced some problems with sql-queries apparently stopping the system i tried to isolate the problem a little, which i want to describe here. We use Zope 2.4.0 (binary release, python 2.1, linux2-x86), python 2.1.0, linux2 We use Interbase together with the gvib database adapter (My first idea was that maybe the database adapter is the culprit, but i'm not really sure about this, as there were some postings about zope installations were one long-running thread could stop all the others.) I created now a test function wich just sleeps for 30 seconds. While this is running i can still work with zope in another session, but only if pages are displayed which don't contain sql-queries! All queries seem to wait until the sleep-job has ended! This seems very strange to me. Is this a problem of the DA? Or is it a problem of zope's threading mechanism? Please give me feedback. RE: Zope 2.4.3 crashing continually

I was able to get consistent Zope failures on Solaris w/ DCOracle2 by disconnecting and reconnecting the connection in the Product management interface. If I run the server without the zdaemon, it prints that there was an interrupted system call on a "select()". Dario, this is Zope 2.4.3 running with Python 2.1.1 on a Solaris 2.8 server, with Oracle 8.1.7 and the latest recently released DCOracle2 driver. This is the first I've heard about Python 2.1 and Solaris not getting along. Is 2.2 any better?
