Hi every one. Has anyone been able to make Chapter's 10 example "Acquiring Arguments from other Objects" to work? I've followed all the instructions, but my ZSQL Method can't acquire the value from the folder's property when I access it directly trough the URL: http://localhost:8080/Departments/Sales/requisitionSomethingForm I fill out the form and when posting it I get an exception. Using Zope 2.3 and Zserver it throws a: Error Type: Bad Request Error Value: ['department_id']Dieter Maurer wrote: Thanks in advance.

I have the very same problem. And while this isn't a perfect solution, Zope does seem to get along with mozilla 0.7 quite well. Of course, on my PII 350, mozilla is a bit of a pig. Possibly not the answer you were looking for, but I have had better luck with Netscape 6 under Linux -- it seems pretty stable when working with Zope, and better supports Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Oops, my bad - REQUEST just contains the CGI/HTTP REQUEST variables, like form variables, cookies, AUTHENTICATED_USER and so on. '_' consists of "REQUEST" along with the Zope container hierarchy down to the given method. So REQUEST is not expected to work. It *is* still a namespace, just not one that contains the other DTML methods/folder/etc. Sorry for the confusion! brief storage server downtime

well... we just modified zdaemon so that it would not stop restarting zope if it died within 20 seconds, and modified z2.py so that if anything wierd happened there it would notify zdaemon to stop trying. I tried to start a storage server (whose start.py hasn't been changed) with a zope that hadn't been compiled (oops). So there was an error on Aquisition and the process died within a second. Zdaemon faithfully restarted it. Zdaemon, however, has this little buglet that makes the PID change on each restart. So I had 2 processes that were respawning every second with a new PID. Not very easy to kill. We tried moving start.py to start.save, but that just made the child die all the faster. Eventually we created a start.py that just did time.sleep(3600), which kept the child awake long enough to let me kill zdaemon. I was pretty sure the problem was that I was losing context when calling get_rid() - but for the life of me I cannot figure out how to pass it on - trying: <dtml-var expr="get_rid(_.None, REQUEST)"> still gives me the NameError for next_rid - but the first one works: <dtml-var expr="get_rid(_.None, _)"> Anyone care to illuminate me as to why (what am I doing with the call above?
