How to call image metadata using LocalFS?

When iterating over image files within a LocalFS folder, I'd like to expose their width and height sizes. Although LocalFS file objects can't store user-defined metadata for the time being, it's possible to see an image's width and height values at its properties tab. I've read the how to on "Using DTML With Local File System Objects" but I couldn't find the solution there. Is it possible to call the width and height values of an image item, from a LocalFs iterate procedure? Thanks in advance, Ausum

mysterious problem

I am using a Winbook Si notebook computer, with IE 5.5, and zope 2.3.0. My computer runs zope, recognizes my hostname, and port #... but will not allow me to access the Management Interface with the passwords i have CAREFULLY entered in zope set up/installation. I have reinstalled zope several times, have changed my IP address, have purchased a network card...all to no avail. I have had this exact problem every single time i have tried to access the management interface, regardless of the problem solving done. If you have any ideas, suggestions, brainstorms...I would greatly appreciate it. The following text is the error message I receive after unsuccessfully entering my user name and password at the management interface prompt. Iterative Insertion via the dtml-in tag

Hello, I've been working my way through the tutorial and documentation, and I found the section on "Iterative Insertion, the dtml-in tag" to be very eye-opening: http://www.zope.org/Documentation/Guides/DTML-HTML/DTML.7.html It's been my first eye-opener to the real power of Zope. Now, when I go to the root of the above document, apparently this information has been depreciated. My questions: 1) where is a newer version of this same example page? The newer docs don't seem to cover the dtml-in tag with such a great example, to such depth. 2) is there a single .html file for the above depreciated documentation, so I can print it out easily? Unsightly data.fs buildup?

While adjusting security and roles I noticed some behavior that concerns me a little. If you create a new role, assign it some rights, delete that role, then recreate a new role with that same name, it retains the rights of the deleted role. This same behavior is exhibited when you pack and restart as well so that means that somewhere in the object database, junk is not being garbage collected when you remove roles. Is there an easy way to remove this information? Are there other scenarios like this that might cause the system to gather useless data? Forking the Mailing List

Forking the mailing list may make sense, except for the idea of a "NEWBIES" list. In any community, the ignorant learn by listening to the more experienced. I suggest that the real problem is not that this mailing list covers too many topics, but that we need a better way to preserve, organize and retrieve the questions and the better answers. In parallel to forking the list, I propose that we, as a community, with DC's guidance, determine the best way to capture the value of the mailing list -- a repository of problems faced by members, coupled with solutions from other members. My proposal is that DC builds or blesses a detailed topic map re. knowledge of Zope (Installation, RDMS, DTML, Security, the various products, etc.) on Zope.org, and invites members to contribute to filling in the topic map with questions, answers, example code, etc. A FAQ + a topic map. ZDP started this process, but this tool needs to be the first thing one thinks of before they ask the list a question. I would love to buy a book that extracted the best questions and answers/examples found on this list in the last two years, weeded out the fluff, and organized the rest. Brian
