Hi all ! I have a zope site working with apache, and all works fine !! Still, making the exact same requests, the time to respond is mostly different ! sometimes a request is given like a bullet, but on the other side, it takes a lot of time ! (there are only two clients connected to the server) Is there any way of monitorize zope requests ? Has anyone had this kind of situation ? Best regards to you all Nuno

problem testing for a permission

Hi, I've created a method whose View permission is not allowed to Anonymous users but allowed to the "Member" role. I want to put a link to this method at the bottom of each page, say in standard_html_footer, but only if the user is allowed to view it. I've done the following in standard_html_footer: <dtml-if "AUTHENTICATED_USER.has_permission('View', mymethod)"> ... Some tests and text ... <A HREF="<dtml-var URL>/mymethod">Members only</A> ... Some tests and text ... </dtml-if> but if I access the pages as an anonymous user then I've got an Unauthorized exception instead of not having the "Members only" link. What do I have done wrong ? Orphan Object IDs

I have an object (from the Radio Free Pete package) that appears to be an orphan. I have deleted the product, cleaned the database, cleaned the cache but a reference to RFP still exists. I know this because when I try to import the RFP.exp, I get an error stating that that object ID still exists and cannot be re-installed. Is there a way to get rid of this without reinstalling Zope? Passing a list through a url

I need to pass a list through a url. Is there anyway to do it? I receive a list from a DTML document and I need to pass it again to a method. I have verified that the intermediate document receives a list but when the last method retrieves it the type is string. I can cast it to be a list by : <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('Destination?myList:list'+`myList`)"> but <dtml-var mylist> renders ["[x]"] where I have a list containing a string. Any ideas? I want to test in a sequence if sequence-index is multiple of 4 I think I can with fmod(sequence-index,4)=0 but I don't find the right syntax: I tried directly in the <dtml-if> tag and with a <dtml-let> tag like : (I tried with or without " [ _[ ' .... nothing works) <dtml-in SQLmotcle_query> <TD CELLPADDING="0" CELLSPACING="0" VALIGN=MIDDLE ALIGN=LEFT> <dtml-let x=fmod(sequence-index,4))> <dtml-if x> poipoi <dtml-else> pokpok </dtml-if> </dtml-let> </dtml-in></TD></TR> What is the right syntax, or is there another way to test this. thanx. Zope on Python 2.1

Hello! I did a quick test on how Zope would run on Python 2.1. I didn't do extensive tests, but at first glance it works without a problem. can't connect to zope on freebsd/apache

Hello I'm trying to get Zope working on FreeBSD. I'm already using Apache on it for another web-based app (Request Tracker), so I have to leave it in place. I installed Zope using the FreeBSD port (version 2.2.2, I believe), and everything compiled, etc. I found the Zope startup script and started it; this also looks good, as I can see two Zope processes running. However, I can't connect to the Zope server on port 8080. I can still connect to the Apache site though. How do I get this last step working? Thanks! -Kurt

Hello, I have another question about permissions in Zope: I am dynamically creating permissions (with AccessControl.Permission.registerPermissions) that are not associated with any methods, but as soon as I restart Zope, those permissions are gone. Hello, Is there any programmatic way to have a UserFolder-like object assign the 'View Management Screens' permission to a role different than Manager?
