ANNOUNCE: Zope 2.3.2 beta 2 released

Hello all, Zope 2.3.2 beta 2 has been released - you can download it from Zope.org: http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.3.2b2/ Zope 2.3.2b2 contains only one fix for a catalog issue that was found to affect CMF (and probably some other uses). If no other surprises are found, we expect to make 2.3.2 final next friday (April 27). I never saw "fmod". Is it a Python built-in? Anyway, even if it were, it would not be available in DTML. (Some) Python built-in are available as attributes of "_". Other built-in functions are not available. After this didactic excursions, a short answer to your question: <dmtl-let x="_['sequence-index'] % 4 == 0"> "%" (applied to numbers) is Python's "mod" operator. Dieter

If I had the problem, I would object intensively: He wants to check whether the current user has 'View' permission for "mymethod". His code should always return a truth value and never raise an "Unauthorized" exception. As reported in an earlier post, I cannot fully reproduce his observation. I do not need "View" permission but I do need an "Access Contents Information" permission. As the code above does not access any contents of "mymethod", this is definitely a bug. Not very serious, but nevertheless a bug... Dieter

'.' is there an operator, the attribute lookup operator. In the failing case, the '.' is not an operator but behaves identical to the letters. "_[...]" performs a name lookup for "...". You look for an object with literal name "Portal.Publications.Review". There is not such object, only one with name "Portal" which has an attribute with name "Publications" .... Uploading Documents Bug

F.Y.I. In Zope 2.3.1, by hitting the "Upload" button in a dtml document edit page without browsing for a document first, you clear the dtml document. CatalogAware does not work?

I followed Automatic Cataloging example in Zope Book, Chapter 9. Everything works fine except automatic cataloging of newly created fields ("author", "content"). When I change data in those fields it is not reflected in the catalog. When I add a new instance, it is not included in the catalog. This can be verified by clicking on the Catalog tab, and choosing the newly added instance (the page that says "the goal of this page is to provide basic debugging information about what is in the Catalog on a specific object."). Also, calling <dtml-in>Catalog</dtml-in> does not display new/modified data. The situation can be rectified by manually clicking Advanced/Update Catalog (for modified fields) or by Find Objects (for new instances). In other words, the catalog can only be updated manually. Strangely, the "date" field does not suffer this problem. I run Zope 2.3.1 source release. I use the latest Zope Book, dated March 13, 2001 Is the Zope Book text about Automatic Cataloging valid? What mistake I make? -- Milos Prudek
