Passing a list through a form?

I've been looking for the preferred way to send a list through a form to another DTML document. What I'm trying to do is something like this. <form name="jumpform" method="post" action="pg_errors"> <input type="hidden" name="f_errors:list" value="<dtml-var f_errors>"> </form> Where f_errors contains a list of strings which may contain characters (including >'s and "'s) which destroy this form quickly. I have not been able to determine what format the value="" field should take in order for this form to send a list. Can someone clarify how this value="" field should be created so that my calling document recieves data capable of being reconstructed into a list? NOTE: jumpform is javascript submitted by a custom header. Cobalt cubes and Zope

Hi, I was wondering if Cobalt and Zope are compatible. I may wish to run my Zope application on a Cobalt cube but it currently is not configured to run Zope. It comes pre-installed with Apaches 1.3. Any known issues? Perhaps there is a company that provides a turnkey zope+Apache solution. Also, I'm sure that is is possible to run multiple sessions of Zope. Can someone direct me to where this information is kep. I checked the database for ISP stuff but did not find exactly what I need.

Need help with ':records' form construct

Hello, I'm hoping that one of you can help me out with the not-very-well-documented ' :records ' form construct. I have a long form which contains information from around 100 separate database records.. This is being sent into Zope from a FileMaker form.. Its displayed in a long Zope form (it displays properly...) and edited.. and then I'm hoping to submit it from Zope and use the information to populate a SQL database via a ZSQL method.. I've tried two different ways to get it into my database, both iterating through the results and calling the SQL method on each iteration, and also doing my dtml-in in the ZSQL method itself. Neither have worked.. The ZSQL documentation doesn't give much to go on.... so I'm hoping some of you can give me some pointers.. The data is mixed strings and integer data, but that shouldnt be a problem.. When I point the forms action at a method with simply <dtml-var REQUEST> in it, I see that it appears that the data is being concatenated together.. Is this what is supposed to be happening? presenting a list of stuff

hello, i'd like to know whats the most elegant/practical/usefull way of displying a list of stuff (that might or might not be there). i have a zclass with a couple of boolean properties and i'd like to display a list of *true* items this way : ItemA,ItemB,ItemD,ItemE. (itemC is false) i can do it pretty easily with a bunch of dtml-if (but it looks too ugly and my fingers hurt !) and i can't kill the "," before the last point. p.s. i would prefer to do it in dtml since this has a lot more to do with presentation than logic and since the guys who will be coming after me will be even less python-enabled than i am ;-) thx, $ven

Accentuation with ZCatalog...

Hello. I am using ZCatalog to make searches in my site, but I need that when I make a search, ZCatalog ignores accentuation. Example: PrincipiaSearchSouce: table Have to find: táble, tãble, tàble, table Is there any property that do that? Or something like... ANN: patch to <dtml-tree> adds urlparam_expr

Hi! I patched TreeTag.py so that <dtml-tree> accepts a new parameter "urlparam_expr". It works like urlparam, except that it will take a python expression and evaluate it before creating the querystring for the expanding and contracting widget links. It's a "hotfix product", so you don't have to change your Zope sources. You can get it here: http://www.zope.org/Members/Barabbas/TreeTagPatch I've put the feature request for <dtml-tree> in the Collector, too: http://classic.zope.org:8080/Collector/bugsAndFeatures It's only three little locations that I patched. Maybe someone that knows Zope better than I do can have a look and verify that the patch is ok. Seems to me, but you know... Thanks, Danny

Access same named Property of Parent Object [newbie]

Hi Is there anybody who could give me a hint, how I access a Property-Value of a parent object, when my current object has a own property with the same name. Is there something like <dtml-var "PARENTS[0].propertyName()"> ... well the above hasen't worked ... and some other experiments ended in a crash either ... ;) Thanks a lot in advance Stefan Mallepell

Problems with LoginManager

I need to implement user authentication (with Zope 2.3.1) based on a PostgreSQL user database and found a HOWTO at zope.org: <URL: http://www.zope.org/Members/jok/SQL_based_LoginManager> This pointed me to a howto for installing LoginManager and ZPatterns: <URL: http://www.zope.org/Members/BwanaZulia/zpatterns_install> After compleating the LoginManager/ZPattern installation I restarted the Zope server, but LoginManager doesn't appear in the list of available objects/folders in the managment user interface. I really need some help to get it working since I haven't found any good information about how to get LoginManager working (except for the two links above). -- Lars Preben

[newbie] Property with <dtml-var> in it's value

Hi Was just a bit surprised and haven't found anything about this on zope.org ... Can anyone tell me how I can make that a <dtml-var xxxx> which is stored in a Property of a ZClass instance, will be "processed" when I reference it in a dtml method. The property is from type "text" and there is normal text in front and after the dtml-var statement.
