hello! how can i convert a string containing structured text to HTML and store the result to a variable? preferably from dtml or a python script. Jens.

sendmail problem or issue?

Hi there, I've run into a few problems with the sendmail tag this morning. 1) I have the sendmail tag using the mailhost arg. Running the page from the server works fine. If I try and run it from another machine, zope tells me it can't find mailhost. 2) I have the sendmail tag using the smtphost arg. Works fine from the server and from other machines in the internal network (which are allowed to use the smtp server), but of course it doesn't work from machines external to the network, i.e. Jim Bob from X Corp across town can't run the page because his machine isn't allowed to use the smtp server. I would have expected that the mail is created and sent by the machine running zope, not the machine running the browser. What's going on here, and what should I do to fix the problem? Tim.

There will be no problem, when you explicitly reference them in the URL: http://localhost/coolness will only publish "http://localhost/coolness/index_html" but http://localhost/coolness/index.htm will publish "http://localhost/coolness/index.htm". Long PythonScript Problem

Hi Evan, Sorry to bug you but there appears to be a problem with Python Scripts longer than about 6kb. If you submit them via the web form, you either get 'connection reset by peer' or no data returned. You can reproduce this quite easy by using a _big_ block of hashes ;-) Any ideas? cheers, Chris

Zope shows internal setup (Bobo-Exception-File)

Hi, is there any chance to suppress the Bobo-Exception-File header that is generated by a <dtml-raise Redirect>? Server: Zope/Zope 2.3.0 (source release, python 1.5.2, linux2) ZServer/1.1b1 Date: Sun, 29 Apr 2001 16:36:46 GMT Bobo-Exception-File: /web/zope5/lib/python/DocumentTemplate/DT_Raise.py Bobo-Exception-Type: Redirect Location: /kabine/ Bobo-Exception-Value: /kabine/ Content-Length: 0 Bobo-Exception-Line: 128 I don't think that there is any need to show my internal paths to the world. Does mod_python conflict with Zope?

I have been trying to install mod_python. I want to use it for the sections of the site which are served by Apache not Zope. Zope 2.3.2 Apache 1.3 Redhat 6.2 mod_python ./configure gives me a warning message about threading: ...checkingchecking... checking whether Python is compiled with thread support ..yes *****Warning***** Python is compiled with thread support. Apache 1.3 does not use threads. On some systems this will cause problems during compilation, on others it may result in upredictable behaviour of your Apache server. Yet on others it will work just fine. The recommended approach is to compile Python in a separate location and specify it with --with-python option to this ./configure script. Q1: Has anyone come across this? Q2: Do Zope and mod_python play well together? Q3: Should I wait and upgrade Redhat and Apache?
