Hello I have created some pop up menus in Macromedia Fireworks 4, but am unable to import them into Zope. Has anyone had experience of using this? Set expire date for file

Hello, How can I set expiring date for a file (xls, gif, etc.) so it will be downloaded from server not from cache. HTTP header? Or is there another way? Sven

Zope@docroot w/iPlanet

I'm switching from Apache to iPlanet, which I am not as familiar with. I would like my Zope site to appear at the doc root of my web server, but I don't know the iPlanet analogues for ProxyPass or ReWriteRule. How do I get Zope to appear at the docroot with iPlanet? diff releases - explanations

I started writing this question and then finally solved it myself, but I figured it was worth posting still as a recommendation. I am running Zope-2.3.0 (which I successfully installed from src on FreeBSD a few months ago) and wish to upgrade. I have downloaded Zope-2.3.x-to-2.3.1-src.tgz and unzipped it, but I can't (couldn't) find any instructions on what to do. The doc folder only contains: CHANGES.txt FAQ.txt LOGGING.txt none of which explain how to install this. And as far as I can see no other docs are included. I read http://www.zope.org/Members/mcdonc/HowTos/zopeinstall/ZOPE-INSTALL-HOWTO but that does not seem to match the file I have downloaded. The file I have downloaded looks more like a patch rather than a full installation. Nor does http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.2.0/upgrading_to_220 - this seems outdated. I then went to http://www.zope.org/Documentation/admin but nothing there either. Finally I searched the mailing lists and found http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/54997 The last 11 lines of this letter explain what to do (I think). Nothing on the site or in the file explains that it is a "diff" release (or what a "diff" is - or what to do with it). I would recommend that some instructions and explanations be placed on http://www.zope.org/Products/Zope/2.3.1 where the files can be downloaded from. Even the release email http://groups.yahoo.com/group/zope/message/55939 does not clearly explain what a "diff" release is. Or have I missed something completely?? Tom Cameron

I would like to use a python-script as constructor for html-forms within zope-products:: to build them i need to know the property_map of a not yet created instance :: i tried to refer to the ZClass, but i don't get access there :: any ideas? .urs

Hi Allen, Welcome to Zope! Unless you've installed a Zope product called LocalFS or one of its cousins, the "files" in Zope are actually objects in the ZODB. The ZODB itself is a single file called "data.fs," and it usually lives in the var directory. Administrative note: this is the file to back up, with it and a fresh install of Zope you can recreate your entire site. If you removed index_html, then you already know a little about the management interface. Go back in there and create a new DTML Document called "index_html" in the same location as the one you deleted, containing whatever you'd like, and that'll fix your 404. At this stage of the game, you can just put HTML in there and worry about DTML a bit later. Yes, the "_" is not only the default, but necessary. You can't change it to a ".", it confuses Python. Once you get used to it, you'll find you really don't have to care what the "files" in Zope are called, and since it's not really a file anyway, the lack of a "." and file extension doesn't matter at all.
