Hi ! I'm unable to start Zope service. I installed the package that I found at Zope.org and followed the instructions found on Zope's web site, when I do ./start, here's the message I receive. 2001-04-02T17:47:11 PANIC(300) z2 Startup exception Traceback (innermost last): File /usr/local/zope/2-3-1/z2.py, line 623, in ? File /usr/local/zope/2-3-1/ZServer/HTTPServer.py, line 391, in __init__ File /usr/local/zope/2-3-1/ZServer/medusa/http_server.py, line 550, in __init__ error: host not found I have a Linux Mandrake 7.2. I already tried to install RPMS from Mandrake, they didn't work either. What can I do ??? Thanks ! What is wrong is that the folder is inheriting permissions from it's container. Bobo/Medusa

Any idea where to obtain a Bobo which will work with this howto? http://www.bofh.asn.au/~richard/bobo-medusa-HOWTO.html I know it's not supported, but all I need is a low-fat object publisher/web server which will also serve normal cgi-bin (not necessarily written in Python). I've tried asking on python-list(a)python.org and medusa(a)yahoogroups.com, but so far with no results :( TIA, Eugene

Zope starts under 2.1b2 on HP/UX 11.00 :) It has lots of "X is deprecated" but it starts and the management interface works fine. How to create a Shopping Cart for Core Session

Hello, I'm trying to design a Shopping cart class that I can add to a Core Session object. An earlier post this year on "Putting objects into CoreSessionTracking?" got a response by Chris McDonough stating that Core Session objects need to obey all rules obeyed by ZODB objects. I know how to design Zope Products, how will a Shopping cart class that is meant only to exist ephimerally in the Core Session object differ? Because of Zope's handful of extensions written in C, it won't just be enough to download the binary version of Zope (compiled for Python 1.5.2.) and point it at your Python 2.0 interpreter instead; you'll need to get the source version of Zope and build it for Python 2.0. I've also found that some third-party Products use idioms that are not accepted by Python 2.0, such as multi-argument append(), so you may need to pester the respective developers or amend them yourself. How do I include a file into a DTML box?

Hi! At http://www.iglu.org.il/ we have a front page which contains several left boxes ( a la slashdot). One of them displays the status of the latest Linux kernel version. At the moment it is updated manually but I wrote a script to automatically generate it based on information from www.linuxhq.com. The file with the HTML code is somewhere on the computer's directory structure, and I wish to include it as part of the box (or at least to write a script that will modify it inside zope). How do I do such a thing? User Authorization via IP (Domains) Bug in Zope 2.3.x

Hello, I used some Domain-Based users in Zope 2.2.2. After upgrading to Zope 2.3.0 and 2.3.1 these users don't work anymore. - Is it a bug ? - Has the syntax been changed in any way ? ciao. Stefan

FW: ZipFolder Problems

I have installed ZipFolder 0.2. But I cannot get it work. It gives me the follwing error. Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: OSError Error Value: [Errno 13] Permission denied: 'C:\\WINNT\\TEMP\\~1216-4' I have checked the permissions on temp: everyone & SYSTEMS have full control (win2000prof) Has anyone installed it successfully and suggest how I may fix mine.
