Assuming the id is an int in the database, you need to change the checkbox names to "ids:int:list" which I believe will result in a list of ints being passed to the SQL method. I would suggest flattening your loop, like this: <form action="myaction"> <table> <dtml-in expr="_.range(100)"> <dtml-if expr="_['sequence-index'] % 10 == 0"> <dtml-unless sequence-start> </tr> </dtml-unless> <tr> </dtml-if> <td><input type="text" name="box:list" size="3"></td> </dtml-in> </tr> </table> </form> This will create 100 (or any number) of input boxes. It's also easier to change how many boxes you want per line, just change the 10 in the if statement. You can also more easily support a total number of boxes that isn't a multiple of your row length. By naming the input boxes "box:list", a single sequence named box will be passed to your method "myaction". Why of course! I want to create a table of input boxes. The way I wanted to do this was by creating a row of boxes, then going to the next row and creating ten more boxes. In the course of writing this, I couldn't remember what I had originally done that didn't work. But in trying to duplicate it, it does work now: <table> <dtml-in "_.range(10)"> <tr> <dtml-in "_.range(10)"> <td><form> <input type=text name="foo" size=3> </dtml-in> </dtml-in> </table> Of course, at this point, using this code, I have 100 input boxes with the same name. How do I introduce a counter that will give me 100 different names for the boxes (or whatever number of boxes the user wants to create)? Thanks for your help. This is untested, and I'm not sure if it will really work, but try calling RESPONSE.setHeader('Window-target', 'TOP') before the redirect, or at the top of the document you're redirecting to. Testing on user roles

Hello, On my site I want to make 2 different admin sites depending on what user role the logged-in user has. For this purpose I have created 2 roles. Now I have read the helpfile and have found out that I can test for AUTHENTICATED_USER.getRoles() but this function need an object. What object should I pass to this function ? Optimizing Zope

Hello, Running Zope 2.2.2 on Dual PIII 933 with 1GB of RAM. This machine is not fast enough to handle my requests (about 800 Users using this system). It's a very complex document managing system with about 5000 documents actually and growing every day. Search requests are with Python backend. The backend sends lists of objects with methods and data. I print the data in DTML sequences calling the objects methods. System is a 2 server system, which do the data syncing over xmlrpc. One system is a Windows NT and the other is Linux. The high load results on Windows NT in Dr. Watson system crashes and on Linux only zope goes down. Windows NT crashes very often (about every hour), while Linux is crashing every few month. 1.) I tried to optimize it with simple objects, that only have the data in it and then print it with DTML (<dtml-var "variablename">). This is faster, because of the simpler objects. 2.) I tried running zope with apache's cgi, fastcgi over sockets, fastcgi over TCP/IP. Result: Slower than only Zope. 3.) Is there a way of avoiding error 'competing conflicts' in the internal Zope Classes ? This crashes the NT box very often. So the admin have to restart the service all the time :-( And it is not sure that it comes up again. Sometimes a reboot is the only way. Any Idea ? It doesn't matter how stupid it sounds. ciao. Imagine a redirect to the page itself with TARGET=_blank, a nice way of killing a browser even if all "active" things like javascript etc. are disabled. I fear you either have to resort to javascript, see i.e. http://www.pageresource.com/jscript/jredir.htm or to target your method with _top and rebuild the framset in case you don't need to redirect. cheers, oliver
