Zope and Dreamweaver WebDAV

The main problem that we've been having is that without file extensions .htm etc. Dreamweaver will not render the html document as WYSIWYG. Is it possible to get Dreameweaver to render withou the file extensions? I'm thinking not. Cheers David Legg,

"subforlder" question - on Guest Book example (ZopeBook)

Hi, I'm trying my first stuff with Zope, following the ZopeBook's examples. Now I'm trying the obviously important feature of letting (Anonymous) users add and list "messages", so I'm studing the Guest Book example that has a simple index_html (with the natural loop on the users' messages), and the standard Form + Action + Script stuff for adding messages. Users' messages are added in the same folder where the "machinery" is, but I would prefere to have them in a "Entries" subforder. My question is: how should I do that. The solution I've found is to change the original add Script (to be found at this message's end) to accept and additional parameter (the subfolder) and to change all the references to "context" to that parameter. That works, but I feel I can (and should?) get the same effect just by rearranging the way the GusetFolder is organized and let acquisition do the magic of having the subfolder to be "passed" as context. Any hint? ZSearch Results Calling URL?

I'm modifying the standard ZSearch results and having problems calling object URLS using DTML. I'm doing a search of documents. The standard search results include <dtml-var title> in the table. I'd like that title to be a link to the document itself. However, various methods I've tried end up returning the URL as the Results page itself, not the document page: <td><a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title></a></td> ...does it, as does plain <dtml-var URL>, etc. How do I specify "URL of the thing that you're giving me the title of" in this situation? Hi, I'm pleased to announce the availability of ZShell 1.0pre2. ZShell is an external Zope method which allows you to manipulate the ZODB using standard unix shell's commands from within Zope's Management Interface in your web browser. ZShell is licensed under the GNU General Public Licence, with some clarifications of my own concerning it's use with Zope. You can download it from: http://cortex.unice.fr/~jerome/zshell/ Every time I want to go into "feature freeze" mode, then I add new funny commands ! New features are: ================= * The su command: - allow people to execute ZShell commands as another user. If the user isn't a Manager then the correct user's password is needed. - Doesn't allow multiple commands, and su state is not preserved from one launch to the other: You have to do multiple su for that. * The export command: - can export many objects at a time. - can't export to local machine because of a bug in Zope 2.3.2 and my lazyness to get around it. * The nipltd command (not a joke): - search phrases in NIP Ltd Zope's mailing list archive. * The shell wildcards expansion mechanism is now thread safe, thanks to Toby Dickenson. I'm still waiting for feedback from people who use ZShell with virtual hosting, either successfully or not. Since we are at making SourceForge projects, is there somebody seriously interested in having a CVS access to ZShell's sources ? What other important commands do people need in ZShell ? Say I edit some DTML Method from scratch with emacs (or any other tool which don't know anything about Zope), now I want to put it into the ZODB, but not using the zope's management interface, for example using ZShell's wget command or another yet to be released tool (or maybe FTP I don't know) Then during the upload, Zope can't decide automatically what the object meta type will be, and will make a guess which is bad in 50% of the cases: either it's a DTML Method, or it's a DTML Document, and both will be detected with a text/html mime type. talking about information redundancy, please explain why a Python Script contains it's meta type in a comment at its top ! It has no meaning to Zope, because you can't upload and use other types of Python source inside Zope (you don't upload products or external methods), and it has no meaning to Python or any text editor out there. That's why I think my suggestion is just as bad as this Python Script comment: Why don't you do it in DTML objects too ? (to push it further: uploading a structured text document, the mime type will be recognized as text/plain anyway, and the meta type will be File, I mean when not using the ZMI) > Then you could modify wget to make use of this comment when importing. Look inside the Schedule catalog. It's index_html method lists the entries in the schedule. Is yours there? If not, go and edit the method. You don't have to change it, if it's all set correctly, just pretend you made a change and click the Update button (or whatever it's called). That action will reschedule the method. Then look in the Schedule again to be sure it's there. Once you got STUPID_LOG working, what shows in the log? If the Dispatcher tried to fire your method, there will be an entry in the log. Any errors will also be noted. To send email, your Xron Scheduled Method needs permission to use Mailhost. An Xron Scheduled Method by default has the permissions of "Anonymous User". scenario: i am logged in as 'tav' and would like to know if 'Anonymous User' has permission to view the current object... i can find out if the current user has a specific permission: <dtml-if "AUTHENTICATED_USER.has_permission('xt_object view',this())"> but, this does, in no way tell me if an Anonymous User can... i would appreciate some guidance. thanks -- best regards, tav tav(a)espnow.com

[Q] ZServer unhandled connect event?

I installed Zope, and logged in as admin with the password given at the installation time. And made a manager account, and restarted the browser, and zope, too. But I can not log in with the new manager account. Is there any body that can give me any idea? Joo-Yung
