I would like to migrate the webring I manage to a zope server. I hope that someone has written webring software, but I cannot find any myself. If you know of any webring software could you be so kind as to let me know. Agreed. This would enable me to at least treat my TTW code and my on-disk stuff (Python products, ext. methods) roughly the same and use tools I am already used to using for IDE use; that is not to say that I wouldn't want an IDE, but that I am willing to wait. Zope already has a one up in terms of development ease over other competing popular development technologies like Java, because there is no compilation involved to get a my python code working (and there are no other big steps if using the 'refresh' product to reload products). Python Scripts, dir() and attributes.

I'm trying to get the value of a ZSQL search (integer) using a PythonScript... l = [ ] results = context.select_highest_id_from_answers() for f in results: l.append(f) Return l ...but my function is returning a db results instance. Like this... [<r instance at 0E2A5A00>] I have two questions. Firstly, how to get the value of a results set, And secondly is there a nice way to inspect objects using python scripts. Sir, I have zope running at my linux server. I have a NT workstation.I am accessing zope from linux server as http://servername/manage. ok. I am having one folder raja in the zope. Now, I want to run the zope like this http://localhost:8080/manage which is having only my folder and control panel. got it? Ouch! You hit close to home there. Yep. I'd pay. I spend enough time in the ZMI that I'm busy developing my own hotfixes for the interface to make it workable. Zope *badly* needs an IDE, but not too many are willing to devote the time to it (myself included). It needs to have source available (so I can do my own bugfixes). I'm really liking Zope's hotfix-ability, so that would be a niceity for the IDE. I don't mind it being based on Mozilla, but it should be a new one. Mozilla offers the ability to do HTTP, HTTPS, and FTP outta the box, so that's a start already. I could probably pull off buying it at work. If it is good, I'd probably buy a personal copy and hope there wasn't a $100/year upgrade tax. Still, it's gotta have the source (ie Debian: For the militantly free :) Conclusion: 1) Gotta be Free software. 2) Should run on every platform that zope does. 3) Should offer HTTP, HTTPS (not optional in my environment), XML-RPC (optional) and ZEO (for speed) access to the server. Even cooler, run a ZEO connection over ssh. Are WebDAV requests HTTP GET requests? Or are they PUT? I ask because there might be a way to filter public access with a reverse-proxy to certain URLs (with, for example, a Squid redirector). Whether or not this kind of thing would work for certain types of WebDAV traffic, such as viewing folder contents, depends on the anatomy of a WebDAV request... Thoughts? What I meant is an application that does report the use of the video stream back to the streaming server. This report must be bound to something that identifies the user. The standard Realplayer does not do something like that, I think. If it does, fine - but then it's not a Zope problem :) For tracking users have a look at the CoreSession product.
