Connection on MySQL Database

Hello, wa have got many problems to connect on MySql Database because they ask us a connection string but we don't know why we put in this input box? For Oracle Database, we must put the "user/password@server name", but for MySQL is it the same thing? Thank a lot. replay transactions?

One of our Zope administrators blew away some work by deleting an object and importing a new one in its place. I've been unable to undo the transactions. Instead, I have restored the missing objects from a backup. Significant work was done since the backup, though. (It was a long night.) I can see the transactions in the folder's Undo page. Is there a way to get at the transactions and replay them? Thank you. --kyler

Evaluating a variable that contains a method

Hello all, Here's the situation, and I believe it could work - I just need to find the proper syntax. I have a variable that will contain the name of a DTML method; let's call the variable myVariable. Now, through some code logic, I set the variable to equal the name of a DTML method; which we'll call methodA. In that method, I only have some text. So: myVariable = methodA methodA --> (contains the text) --> This is some generic text for this particular method .... Now, here's the situation. I want to display this variable, which should call the method, which should render the text inside. Currently, I'm doing this: <dtml-var name="myVariable"> but I've also tried <dtml-var expr="myVariable"> This will return the name of the method (methodA), but not render what's INSIDE methodA. Does anyone have an idea on how to do that? Thanks in advance, Tommy

Man have I got a problem.....

I'm a "newbie" to zope and so far I got the zserver running and supposedly have mod_rewrite in my apache server (generic one that comes with RH7.1) but everytime I try to log into the Zope Management Interface using the default admin login/password - authentication fails.... I cant get in to configure and I dont have a clue as to why? Any help would be appreciated.... WPH

multi-level acquisition (or the "images" folder problem)

OK, a lot of people have run into this class of problems before, but I haven't seen a general solution yet, so I thought I'd offer one. But first, let me explain the problem for those who haven't had it yet :-) OK, so as an example say we have a site set up like this: / | +-/images | | | +-img1 | +-/index_html | +-/folder | +-/index_html Both index_html methods contain something like <dtml-var "images.img1"> ...if you're familiar with how acquisition works, then you'll know that everything is OK...the images folder will be acquired from the root folder, and img1 is contained therein. OK, now say we want to add some images specific to the contents of folder. We can create an images subfolder, and put a new image in there: / | +-/images | | | +-img1 | +-/index_html | +-/folder | +-/images | | | +-img2 | +-/index_html ...and edit the tag in /folder/index_html to say <dtml-var "images.img2"> So far, still good. But now lets say that we want /folder/index_html to use both /images/img1 and /folder/images/img2... <dtml-var "images.img1"> <dtml-var "images.img2"> The first statement fails. This is an important subtlety about acquisition: once it finds an element of the path, it only searches within that for the rest of the path...so the first statement is looking for img1 in /folder/images. This trips up a lot of people who would expect Zope to keep searching up the path for other "images" folders until the full path is found (or until it reaches the root folder in the case that the path isn't present at all). There are a number of workarounds to this, but mostly they involve explicitly naming paths and avoiding acquisition entirely, which isn't always what you want. So I threw together a simple python script that I put in my root folder called "find" which takes a path (as a python sequence of names), starts at the current context, and moves up the acquisition chain looking for the specified path. So you'd replace the above with: <dtml-var "find(['images', 'img1'])"> <dtml-var "find(['images', 'img2'])"> ...and it would all work just fine. Best of all, you could later add an img1 to /folder/images to replace the default one in /images for everything under /folder, just as one might expect. It seems to work fine OMM, but hasn't been tested extensively, so use at your own risk :-) Also note that if the specified path doesn't exist at all anywhere in the acquisition chain, you'll get an error. I have two DTML methods and I want to do sth like this: <dtml-call "manage_edit(data=result_of_other_DMLTmethod, title='myTitle')"> But how can I force that the rendered result is inserted and not the document source. Best regards Arno

ALIAS

Cellion BriefpapierBuenas dias, this is my second question: How can I set an Alias to a zope folder? I want for example www.myhomepage.com redirect (or function as alias) for my Zope folder "home" which is in the root. Actually I can only redriect to my ROOT folder - and have to use www.myhomepage.com/home in order to get to my homepage. The reason is that people delivering content should not be able to see and change Zope Management themes (ACL users etc.) Greetings, Martin

DTML-sqltest question

Hello, I want to use <dtml-sqltest > tag in ZSQL Method. I would like to use its "multiple" enhancement. I have got following ZSQL Method select * from opps1 where <dtml-sqltest ar column=areas type=string multiple> On the form I use several checkboxes with the same name defined as: <input type="checkbox" name="qname:list" value="<dtml-var q1 >" When I call ZSQL method with parameter ar=qname it doesnt find anything. When I test the ZSQL Method manualy and enter list (e.g. 'area1','area2') of values for "ar" it renders sql as select * from opps1 where ar = '\'area1\',\'area2\'' but according manual I expect(and need) select * from opps1 where ar in ('area1','area2') I have tried this a several times with different values as input but was unsuccesfull to force zope to use "in ()" statement. Instead it takes input as string. Do you have exepriance/hint? Thanks a lot, David Marko
