Sybase connection

Hi all, Is there anyone who uses the Sybase DA? I get the following error : Error, Products.SybaseDAv2.db.Error: Unexpected result type Now, what can the problem be? I assume that this error is caused, because the stored procedure returns a result type unknown to the driver? Is this possible? If so, is there a newer driver which can handle more types? (I using the driver SybaseDA-2.0b2-src.tgz 2.0b2 (Development) 2000/02/03) Thanks for all the possible help, Tom.

File locking.

Hi. Is there a way to support file locking? It seems it is supported through WebDAV, although I haven't tried. But how doe's one do this with the management interface? The goal is to prevent several people from changing the same document at the same time. -- MVH Jørgen H. Fjeld

User Objects?

(In a python script) What is the difference between the results of these two methods of getting a user object? uid = 'jmr' u_obj = _.SecurityGetUser() #u_obj = context.acl_users.getUser(uid) #dn = u_obj.getUserDN() My experiments show me that either u_obj works with methods such as getRole, hasRoles, getUserName. However, only the former version (SecurityGetUser) works for methods that come from the LDAPLoginadapter (which is the user folder in this case), such as getUserDN. Any clues? (I have the Manager role..) I need to find a way to get a fully functional user object given a string representation of their userid. (So I can look at and play with their attributes.) Thanks! getting index_html instead of manage_main in some browsers

Hello, In certain browsers (OmniWeb for MacOS X and a version of IE on Windows 2000), the management screen operates incorrectly. In the main frame of the management screen, manage_workspace returns the contents of index_html instead of manage_main. If for instance, if I view http://myzopesite/manage_workspace, I am redirected to http://myzopesite/index_html rather than the correct http://myzopesite/manage_main. I've only encountered this error with OmniWeb and whatever version of IE was on a Windows 2000 machine I was using in one of my university's research labs. When I first encountered the problem, I thought it was an error with my Zope installation, but the management screen works on every other browser I've encountered except these two. Is the problem with the browser or is it something that Zope is doing? Anyone ever seen this before? BTW, I've had this problem with both 2.3.3 (running on Linux) and 2.4b (running on MacOS X Server). Thanks. -- Mark James Adams mark(a)raysend.com

still bad perception of Zope about security

Hi, I've just asked to an ISP of a website I maintain if he planned to provide Zope hosting in a near future. The answer was basically: ... Maybe but not yet, because there are still important security problems with Zope, according to securityfocus ... We can do that on dedicated servers but not on shared ones... So I've told him that no exploit was known, according to this mailing list and the recent thread on this subject, and that it was probably because DC takes security with care and often announce security problems as big threats even if there's a very small chance for them to be exploited. However I'm sure he will not be convinced by such a short reply. So I think something has to be done to restore Zope confidence around ISPs, but unfortunately I don't know what. bye, Jerome Alet

Hello , I have a folder 'project' with some subfolders (the projects). The subfolders have different properties. Now I created a form in which I can include new properties for a new subfolder. A DTML-method called 'project_prozessor' adds this new subfolder with its new properties to folder 'project'. Now my problem : I want to create a selection list with all my subfolders from folder 'project' and when I click on a subfolder, the properties which belong to my selected folder should be in the parts of the form , now. How can I generate my side with the form new? I don't know how can I realize it? I only want to do this with DTML-Syntax not with properties.sheets or so. I would be very happy about your answer. best regards kathrin
