2GB Limit & Best Zope Platform

Hi I'm piloting Zope for our company on a small Intel WS running under Widows NT (4.0 & Zope 2.3.2). Now I have to prepare the production server (medium sized, ~500Users, ~25 concurrent users). My question is, which server/OS is the best to use. Our provider is inclined that we use an Sun / Solaris server. Is there a reason not to use Sun/Solaris? What about the 2Gb filesize limitation on some OS? Does that apply to NT / Solaris / Linux /FreeBSD (or is that problem solved with Zope 2.4.x ? ;-) ). Hi, Thanks for making this product available. I have a quick question. The FAQ index_html contains the code below. What causes the posting to randomly rotate? How do you make it constant? Any help is greatly appreciated. Casey, . Thanks for the quick response. I tried calling it using apply, but I couldn't get the call right. It looked like other code called something like apply(DTMLFile(file,globals()),(),kw) but I don't know what arguments it needs--if it works without arguments, I don't think I tried that. Anyway, if that's the correct approach, I'll play around with it some more until I get it to work. PostgreSQL and external method

I am trying to hook up a PostgreSQL database to Zope through an external method. Here's my method: def hello(): import sys from pg import DB conn = DB('demodb',user='skippy') x = conn.query("SELECT * from testtable") return x It works from the Python command line. But in my Zope page I get <pg query result> Also, is there a single best adapter for Postgres? I'm using PyGreSQL (the FreeBSD port) but I have heard others say it is horribly broken. I can't seem to find much in the way of documentation for installing and using the various adapters (psycopyg, PyGreSQL).

I hit one of those namespace/acquisition kind of things that let me know I'm a long way from achieving the Zope Zen. I want to give users an icon next to a file link that will let them email the file as an attachment. The files will invariably live in a place not in the acquisition path of document containing the link. Since "SendDoc" came through in the traceback un-rendered, I assume that somehow REQUEST.resolve_url can't read that variable, but why? I also tried REQUEST.SendDoc and REQUEST['SendDoc'] with identical results. I'm probably just confusing myself somewhere along the line, but I don't see it and I need help! Search first letter of a string

Hi everybody, I have a question most of you will probably know the awnser of...So les't start. I have a site where people can add information of a company this gets into the catalog. I have all the letters of thre alphabeth listed. Now if a person clicks the letter I would want to search for all the companys with starting letter the person just clicked. So I guess my question is how can I search for the fist letter of a sting in the catalog. Can somone help me with this? Greetz, James
