I am working on Win-32 platform (Windows 95). I installed MySQL ver.3.23 I have MyOBDC, ZOPE I installed ZmySQLDA in Products directory of ZOPE. I follow all the istructions. I am working whit all applications on my PC. I got it to go using: <dtml-in expr="(FrontPage,Purpose)"> **<dtml-var title_or_id>** <dtml-var text> <HR size="1"> </dtml-in> I tried <dtml-var "FrontPage.text()"> and that worked fine too. Thanks. how to get the rid from a ZCatalog object?

I have a ZCatalog object named images. I tried this <dtml-in images> <dtml-var "images.getpath(id)"> </dtml-in> The problem is that getpath() doesn't want the id, but the rid. How do I acquire this knowing the id? Thanks

Andy - I have made a patch to ZSyncer 0.3.1 that will constrain ZSyncer to operate "relative to" and "only at and below" the level in which the ZSyncer object has been installed. I also added https as a valid prefix in the _check_http method. This is useful to me because I can synchronize different staging areas such as production, test, and development across different zope servers and even within the same zope server. The behavior of the current version should be identical if the Zsyncer object is installed in the root folder. For example, I installed 2 ZSyncers at the following urls: http:/www.foo.com/vhosts/xyz.com/prd/zsyncer http:/www.foo.com/vhosts/xyz.com/tst/zsyncer and specified the first url as the destination for the tst zsyncer. Or similarly using different zope servers: http:/www.foo.com/vhosts/xyz.com/prd/zsyncer http:/tst.foo.com/vhosts/xyz.com/prd/zsyncer Although I haven't investigated yet, the ZSyncer could simply use "native" method calls instead of xmlrpc if the source and destination ZSyncer object reside on the same zope server. How to change the properties of a ZClass instance

Hi everyone, I am having a hard time changing the properties of an ZClass instance. This is what I have done so far: I created a producted called MTB_HQ. Within that product I created the ZClass "racedate". The ZClass has the a propertysheet called "date_properties". The sheet contains the properties "date_day","date_month","date_year","date_sort","title","discipline","location". All string type. 2nd I edited the "racedate_add" method as described in the "Searcheable Job Board"-How-To (unique timestamp ids, etc). Then I made a html form in: | |--mtb_hq | | admin The form calls the method "addracedate.dtml" in /mt_hq/admin/racedates. But what do I do now when I want to change the properties of an existing ZClass instance through a web form? I tried back and forth wit manage_changeProperties but I jsut can't get it to work. Believe me I searched through all the How-Tos and documentation available but couldn't find any hint that got me further. My idea is to create a web form that is filled with the properties of existing ZClass. The you can make changes and the form calls a method that does the changing of the properties. But how do I do that? Zope 2.3.2 standard_error_message

Hello! I'm trying to personalize my standard_error_message with zope 2.3.2. In it, I have some HTML with some <dtml-var> to get the current layout of the site. The tricky question is that it all goes well, if the error is not the "404 - not found". The standard_error_message is displayed and all the <dtml-var> tags work. But if I try to call something that doesn't exist, zope returns the "404 - not found" error, and I get the default error message from zope, instead of the one I created in the standart_error_message. The reason I've discovered for this to happen was my <dtml-var> tags. Because if I replace them, with the entire HTML from those dtml-documents, all works fine. Why does it only happens with "404 - not found" error? Any clue? Thx all! Vasco

Building a list in a dtml-in loop

I have a page that uses a dtml-in to process the results from a ZSQL method. The page lists out 30 items and the price of each item is a link to a detail page. What I would like to do is while inside the loop, create then append to a list that stores each of the record IDs for each item. Then when someone clicks the link to go to the detail page it 'takes' the list along. On the detail page would be info about the product and also include forward and back buttons to the next item in the list just created. I guess the question is can I create a list that I can pass to the next page to use to access subsequent records. Clear as mud? Thanks! Allen

Hi everybody, I was wondering if anyone knows of a product wich can make or wich uses a way to create tabs. What I would like to be able to do is to creat a tab for evey letter in the alphabet. I would look like the ZMI management interface tabs, but now It should contain the letters. Can somenone help me? Thanks in advance, James
