Hi there, How can I add the "content" of a dtmldocument or -method to a catalog. It is easy with title and properties. How do I do it with the content? thanks for your answer Robert

URL and list

Hi Zopists, I need to put a list attribute into URL and doesn't know the correct syntax. When I tried it, was represented as string in REQUEST. removing items from lists ?

hello, i am making a dtml script that will choose 3 different objects and display them and i'm kindda stuck. i think the process would be : 1] make a list of objects (dtml-let ?) 2] choose a random item from the list (or maybe choose all three at one time ?) 3] remove this item from the list 4] same player shoots again... right now i'm able to make the list, to use whrandom.choice(xx) to get a random value, but i can't remove items from the list and once in a while i do get the same item twice (which i don't want happening). maybe i don't do it the right way ;-) $ven

problems with adding monthRange.py as Python script object

I am trying to add the monthRange.py Python script into a Zope folder. I get the following traceback that looks like Zope's having trouble finding DateTime. DateTime is definitely there and compiled o.k. (pyc files are present) Any ideas? I am running Zope 2.3.2 and CMF 1.1beta on a Windows ME machine at home. What's with the empty string after the File in the message below? Is that part of the problem? Thanks for any hints. Proxy role question

Hello, I am having some permission problems with a DTML method. I am running 2.3 I have a method that adds a folder, user's folder, a method and siteroot as well as sends a mail message. Now, I had set up the manager proxy role which has the permission to do all of those things. This worked in 2.1.6, now in 2.3, it gives the standard "unauthorized" error. I have tried changing the proxy role to manager, anonymous, and owner. Still raises error. There has got to be a way around this.... All Help is appreciated!

Mass update of a ZClass property?

Hi, I've a ZClass that defines an object of type X. In a folder there are around 100 X objects. Now one of the properties of the ZClass is a selection, drawn from a property "Category" which is of the type lines. The values are ['Music','Software','Book'] Now, there is a requirement that 'Software' needs to be changed to 'CD'. How do I change that in the 100 X objects, that have 'Software' category, in one shot? Calling manage_editProperties in a loop for 100 objects should work. But this method needs REQUEST to be passed through. If I just set a REQUEST for "Category" but that erases other properties of the object :-( So, I suppose I've to load all properties for each object into REQUEST, then change "Category" to CD if it is 'Software' and then call manage_editProperties. Well, I tried playing with property_sheets.myproperty.propertyItems , with not much luck. Am I doing it in a round about way? Any easier solutions? I really miss SQL here ;-( V. CookieCrumbler login_form examples?

Does anybody have an example of login_form and logged_out documents that will operate without CMF? I'm putting together a site where we don't need all of the content-management facilities of CMF, but would really like to use a cookie-based authentication method like the one that CookieCrumbler uses. If anybody has another suggestion, I'd certainly like to hear it. --- Chris

removing an item from a list

hello (again) i'm still stuck at the same point, that is i want to remove an element from an array, let's say i have dtml-let bozo="a,b,c,d" and i want to kill "c", i thought i could make bozo.remove("b") but it doesn't seem to work, so what can i do about it ? thanx, $ven
