Content-Transfer-Encoding for file uploads does work

I have tried to upload a form with a file in it with Content-Transfer-Encoding: base64 and all I got at the Zope side was a file with the encoded data I have checked the cgi.py in ZPublisher and it seems Content-Transfer-Encoding is not implemented there!! Trouble accessing object properties

I am building a site which will display a list of job postings. I have created a product with a ZClass for these postings. These objects have a number of properties. I have a folder into which I have placed a number of these job posting objects. I want to write code which changes flow and/or makes decisions based on the values of the properties in each object. I have written this code just to test my ability to accomplish these tasks: for object in context.objectValues('jobposting'): print "Job Posting is:", object.title_and_id() print "Properties are:" for prop in object.propertyMap(): print " id :", prop['id'], print " type :", prop['type'], print " value:", str(object.getProperty(prop['id'])) return printed Here's the result: Job Posting is: Director of Educational Programming and Children's Festival (ChildFestDirect) Properties are: id : title type : string value: Job Posting is: Director of Marketing and Sales (MrktgDirector) Properties are: id : title type : string value: Obviously, I am doing something wrong in attempting to access the properties of these objects. rambling: zope in two minutes!

hello all. this is a rant. feel free to press the Del key :) nb - i havent installed phpnuke or codecharge. I looked at Php-nuke (http://www.php-nuke.org) and codecharge (http://www.codecharge.com) and saw something familiar. i see Squishdot in phpnuke, and maybe ZNolkSQLWizard in codecharge. the only difference isthat those applications (the former) are made for non-developers, or designers (i think) who dont want to dirty their hands, and burden their shoulders with any programming, but want a site in 2 minutes (or less :)) this is a section of market that zope can target. as said earlier, we can make squishdot more customizable, skinnable, etc without touching any codes. iirc, squishdot does have two themes available. codecharge connects to rdb, and churnes out codes. the same as ZnolkSqlWizard. the only thing is, with codecharge, we can customize by filling in forms, and voila, a site is born. this may be oversimplifying a bit. ZnolkSqlWizard churnes out codes. but then we need to hand code stuff. we could extend both squisdot and ZnolkSqlWizard to compete in this section. an easy to install and administer product, no coding needed, up in 2 minutes :) you know, i see some apps on the web, and think - zope can do that! sorry for wasting bandwidth, etc etc

OK. My best guess is that Zope uses mime types to do this, but that is a wild guess. Instanciate a Zclass with "File" inheritance

LocalFS - how to display objects?

Hi, I'd like to display folders and files in a LocalFS object as a list of links (NOT using the default display method form LocalFS), where I can click on a folder to see more files, or click on a file and have it displayed. Files will be either html or pdf files. I also want to use a dtml method called index_html to display this. Here's the usual way I do this with standard Zope objects: <dtml-var standard_html_header> <ul> <dtml-in expr="objectValues(['Folder', 'File'])"> <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title_or_id></a></li> </dtml-in> </ul> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> How do I enhance this to "also" work with LocalFS objects that will be nested inside regular Zope folders? I see that in LocalFS objectValues become fileValues, and I can get them to be listed, but I can't seem to turn that into a list of hyperlinks. A code snippet from someone who is doing this would be great! We will be uploading lots of files via ftp to the Zope server. We briefly looked at ExtFile, and like the idea, but didn't see how to create an ExtFile object via ftp upload. A remote server will create a file and automatically via cron ftp it to the Zope server to the local filesystem to be used via LocalFS. Is there a way to do this with ExtFile without human intervention? ;-) Of course, I have to do this in a hurry so I'm probably reading right past the obvious answer in the docs. I just can't seem to put it together this morning ;-) Thanks, Mark

Newsyslog

Hi, I'm using newsyslog to turn over the Zope logfile. However, I have to restart Zope each time the log gets turned over. Is there any way of getting around this?
