Large file transfers

All, We desire to use our website (Zope) to gather large files from our users. These files can be rather large (10-70mb). From what I have read It would probably not be a good thing to import these files into the Zope database. So does anybody have any other ideas of how to move these files onto our server? Sherman

[DCOracle2] Problems with Insert - TRY 2

Product: DCOracle2 Alpha 6 against 8.1.7 Installation is symlinked into INSTANCE_HOME Symptoms: Browsing Database is OK Selecting from database is OK Inserting into database gives this error: Zope Error Zope has encountered an error while publishing this resource. Error Type: DatabaseError Error Value: (24374, 'ORA-24374: define not done before fetch or execute and fetch') This error is explained in the oracle docs: " ORA-24374: define not done before fetch or execute and fetch Cause: The application did not define output variables for data being fetched before issuing a fetch call or invoking a fetch by specifying a non-zero row count in an execute call. Action: Issue OCI define calls for the columns to be fetched. " What is going on here? I reverted to DCOracle 1 and everything works well. Hae anybody had similar problems? Also: what is the retionale for returning None instead of Null for null values? Is it more pythonesque? I'm new to zope/python so this may have been addressed elswhere but I did search the archives and couldn't find it Redhat7.0 Sendmail 8.11.0 Python 1.5.2 My First email form threw an error which I traced to this ... /usr/lib/python1.5/smtplib.py : line 303 name=socket.gethostbyaddr(socket.gethostname())[0] I ran it at the python interpreter prompt and it threw an error so I changed it till I got a hostname from it, the line that worked for me was name=socket.gethostname() I'm happy it worked BUT is this going to break other components of my zope system and/or python? Or is it normal to need to tweak this file for different versions of sendmail Thanks for any advice Kai Keliikuli

CoreSessions isTokenFromCookie

Because I have problems with structured text input at the Wiki I ask here. We use isTokenFromCookie() and isTokenFromForm() to decide if we have to support hidden fields in forms or have to construct URLs containing the session id. It seems that both functions don't work as expected. Here a test document (standard_html_header contains a getSessionData() call): <dtml-var standard_html_header> <dtml-if "sdm.isTokenFromCookie()"> Token from Cookie <dtml-else> Token not from Cookie </dtml-if> <dtml-if "sdm.isTokenFromForm()"> Token from Form <dtml-else> Token not from Form </dtml-if> <dtml-if "sdm.isTokenNew()"> Token ist new <dtml-else> Token is not new </dtml-if> <dtml-var REQUEST> <dtml-var standard_html_footer> When I call my document with cookies enabled I get: ---------------------------------- Token not from Cookie Token not from Form Token is not new *form* *cookies* _lwZope5 '82915105Az0EYs.E2W4' ... ---------------------------------- This clearly shows that isTokenFromCookie() does not behave like documented because the token is in the cookie section of REQUEST. When I call the document with cookies *and* the id in the URL, I get: ---------------------------------- Token not from Cookie Token not from Form Token is not new *form* _lwZope5 '82915105Az0EYs.E2W4' *cookies* _lwZope5 '82915105Az0EYs.E2W4 ---------------------------------- Again both functions (isTokenFromForm() and isTokenFromCookie()) don't work like expected. The token is in the cookie section and in the form section of REQUEST. Advice on Zope course curriculum

Hi all, I've been offered the chance to formulate and teach a Zope course for a Philippine-based OpenSource non-profit foundation so I've been trying to come up with a course curriculum for it. I've taken a look at some of the course outlines of the Zope courses being offered (I've seen Kaivo's 2 courses and another one from Ronsnet(?)). I haven't been able to access beehive's (for some reason, I can't access their website) Since I don't think I'll be competing with any of those companies anytime soon... (I don't think any of those companies are in a rush to come here and to start offering courses in the Philippines -- especially since an armed terrorist group just kidnapped 3 americans and 17 other locals a few days ago):^( ... I was wondering if any of you who have been involved with giving (and those taking, as well) those courses, to share with me your opinions, pointers, advice etc. I've already formulated a draft course outline based on Michel's and Amos'es "Zope Book" (which I intend to use as the main textbook) but I also like the format of the Kaivo course... A curious thought

Hey all, can I have the Zope server use a different port for accessing the management interface. A port that is different than the one that deals with http requests like so. http://mysite.server.com/mange will redirect the the request or return and error. to get to the management interfafe I have to http://mysite.server.com:5634/mange I was drinking coffee eating donuts when I had this strange thought. thanks in advance Karl Munroe.

searching keywords with AND

This construct seems to work: <dtml-in "portal_catalog.searchResults( {'meta_type' : 'News Item' ,'Subject': 's1' ,'Subject': 's2'' ,'Subject': 's3' ,'Subject': 's4'} , sort_on='Date' , sort_order='reverse' , review_state='published' )" size="10"> seems to return something that has Subject keywords s1 AND s2 AND s3 AND s4 (and in this example, meta_type=='News Item') -- unless I'm not testing it correctly! Feedback?
