Converting REQUEST style lists into real lists

When you put into your form: <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="1"> <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="2"> <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="3"> <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="4"> <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="5"> <input type="checkbox" name="varia" value="6"> and then select first three of them and submit that form, you'll get in form "action" document: <dtml-var varia> displayed as: ['1','2','3'] Is there an easy way to convert 'varia' into a list? Those inputs are dynamicaly generated from database, and I want to analyse which were choosen in <dtml-in "varia"> block. Thanks to all who replied. It turns out that the NT server will be the new host of the database (just for storing the master copy - not as a database server), and it turns out we need to build a scheduling/calendaring and messaging app around it. Before I found out this particular bit of info, I was playing around with converting the database to XML. If you have no need of write access to the database, either structurally, or just records, this isn't necessarily a bad option. But since we'll be hosting the database, and building this app around it, the obvious solution is to install Zope on the NT box, and query it from the Linux website as a client, and let Zope plus ODBC take care of all the mess. I'll post my newbie questions separately, so as to keep them in the newbie thread, and they are rather generic. But I have one or two intermediate level questions. 1> Does Zope on Win32 have the ability to automatically execute an event, such as send an automated email on a given date? I imagine the worst case scenario is to have an external method that calls a script that writes an NT Task Scheduler entry that sends out a form email with all the required blanks filled in. I'm hoping that there's either a product or that Zope has that functionality builtin, so I can manage it all from within Zope. 2> After reading the documentation for some of the Win32 based products, I went ahead and installed the latest version of Python for Windows, as it seems version 2.1.1 is better suited for interfacing with Windows objects than 1.5, and I want to keep options open, such as maybe serving up Visio diagrams or the like. Good idea or bad idea? Which will be used? I see that some batch files point to C:\Program Files\website\bin\python.exe while scripts executed on their own just call the registered Python interpreter, which is 2.1.1. Is this bad? Please try to keep correspondence on the list. THis can't be done from DTML if you're using an internal session data container because DTML can't access attributes with a leading underscore. Either use an external session data container or use an external method. Was DC's name-change the 'surprise news' promised by Michel?

At the recent EuroZope conference in Berlin, Michel Pelletier promised there would be some 'surprise news' when Zope 2.4.0 was released. Zope 2.4.0 has just been released, but I can't see anything in the announcement that hadn't been indicated beforehand. Was Michel in fact referring to Digital Creations' simultaneous name change rather than to something in Zope 2.4.0 itself? Netscape doesn't recognize dtml-doc as html

I think this is a newbie question. When Netscape doesn't realize, that a dtml-document is HTML (e.g. when I have a link to http://www.website.com/zope and /zope is a dtml-doc), what can I do? ZSQL methods & results lists

Hello, I just instaled 2.4.0, and also installed ZMySQLDA which installed without any problems, then I checked the installation and everything worked great, until I installed the latest checkout for the CMF, then upon restarting the zope server I got the following error: IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: '/usr/home/dsuk5/zope/2-4-0/lib/python/Products/ZMySQLDA/misc_/ZMySQLDA/conn ' ZMySQLDA is not shown to be broken, BUT and I can still connect to the databases I setup prior to my adding of the CMF, BUT when I try to add additional Databases, I get this traceback: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Creating a Gum Product
