ZClass index_html question

Hi, I'm having a problem using a ZClass as a default view of a folder: When I add a ZClass instance to '/folderX', give it an id of 'index_html', and browse to '/folderX', I get an empty response. when I browse to '/folderX/index_html' I still get this error. when I browse to '/folderX/index_html/index_html' I get the correct page. The Zclass has ZObject as base class, and an index_html method I added. Is there a way to make a browse request to '/folderX' execute the index_html method of the index_html ZClqss in that folder? LoginManager + Zope 2.4.0b2?

Just a quick question. Is the latest (0-8-8b1) LoginManager supposed to work with Zope 2.4.0beta2? MS Access interfacing (followup)

Further browsing and searching led me here: http://www.zope.org/Members/lstaffor/ZClientMethod (thanks Loren!) That clears a fair bit of stuff up...either I call a prewritten query residing on the NT server, or install Zope on the NT server (not as bad an option as first thought, btw, as it's already running MS Internet Server, though just ftp services for now). But the option I really want, is being able to read the database directly. Now, since I don't need r/w access, just dumping data as html, at this point I have to wonder if exporting the database to something Linux Zope-readable might not be a better option. Suggestions? Criticisms? Recommendations? Bruce

> Any one running Zope with python 2 ? Any problem o report ? I downloaded the source (ie without bundled Python 1.5.2) and compiled it, and it's worked with my Python 2.0 without any problems since. I think this would be the easiest way to get Zope to work with Python 2 (at least I had troubles trying this with binary distributions). Just download the source tarball, unpack it, and (very important, though so many just ignore it) read doc/INSTALL.txt /Danni

Problems using old ZODB ...

Hi Zopistas, I have two old Data.fs files, circa November 1999 and April 2000. Perhaps not surprisingly, I can't seem to use them with Zope 2.1+. ZServer fires up but both the site and the ZMI of the site give the following traceback: Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. I noticed some calls to &dtml-xxxx. I haven't really seen it before and still learning zope. Can anyone answer the following: What is the "&dtml-" syntax? What is it used for? I am not the most experienced person at this so perhaps someone else will offer better advice. As far as I know you need to ensure two things. 1) that the property form can actually find the dtml list. i.e. the right path/namespace 2) that the list is actually a list, by this I mean a python list of the form ['item','item2'] I must say I have had trouble in the past getting dtml documents to return true lists. Unless you really need to use a dtml document/method, it may be easier to use a 'lines' property in the same property sheet or the property sheet of and object in its parent path. Then create a 'select' property and set it's value to the name of the 'lines' property. I hope this makes sense. I have also found it easier to return a list from a python script. A python script containing: return ['item','anotheritem'] usually works too.
