ZClass Slection Property Question

I have added a Selection property to a ZClass. But I can't figure out how to get the values to display. I inserted "encoding" as the value and added a DTML Method called "encoding". Inside the dtml method, I have: HTML Plain Text But when I view the propertysheet, it says: No value for encoding. Any ideas on what I am doing wrong? works in method but not document?

Hi All, Here's the problem... We have a sidebar component called "submenu" that calls objectIds() to get the list of object ids in the containing folder. It's included in content pages. If submenu is called on its own, objectIds works fine. If it's called from within a DTML Method, objectIds works fine. If it's called from within a DTML Document, objectIds returns None. Any ideas? VHM not recognizing UserDB query strings... (PATH_INFO)

Hi all, I've almost got my authentication scheme working. Almost. I use UserDB and in the docLogin part of that product (ie the thing that gives you a nice form in the middle of the browser is this) <FORM ACTION="?" I'm using VHM and it's been really handy and really easy to set up, but now when I look at the source of the form I see <FORM ACTION="/VirtualHostBase/http/dummy27.ncl.ac.uk:80/VirtualHostRoot/medfac/te st_get_topics2" METHOD="POST"> Whereas I should get <FORM ACTION="/medfac/test_get_topics2" METHOD="POST"> Can someone point out what is going wrong. I guess it's SCRIPT_NAME or PATH_INFO, but there's no mention of them in VirtualHostMonster.py in SiteAccess. After using REQUEST, it appears to be PATH_INFO. From ColdFusion to Zope: help with <dtml-if>?

Hi, One of our business line developers is used to working with ColdFusion and is struggling, as we all are-:), with Zope. We are literally surrounded with piles of documents, e-books, and e-mail messages "explaining" the different aspects of Zope. We are slowly "getting it" and liking it... However... The developer (and myself) have been trying to figure this out for two days and push is now coming to shove and I'm hoping the list can help. I asked her write down in plain English what she is trying to accomplish and I would post it and see if anyone has a solution or solid direction to pursue. The system she developed publishes hundreds of multipage reports using MS Access and Acrobat (pdf). Access holds the links to every report, they are dated and published throughout a two week cycle. The reports themselves reside on numbered folders on a local drive (e:) In ColdFusion she would do something like, IF Fileexists (001delingprt) then .....and so on through the reports... Here is what she wrote ___________________________________________________________________________ Ok, here it is in plain English... I need to determine if a certain file exists. The filename is located in a certain variable. If it does exist do something, else do something else. For example: Say the file is called e:\test.pdf. This path exists in a variable called vartest If vartest exists then show the current month's file else show last month's file. Hope there's an answer. Generating Adobe FDF files from Zope / Python

Hello, I need to generate FDF files from form data submitted to my Zope server (running on RH6.2). I know there is an SDK from Adobe that will let me do this in C, but I've very little C experience and I've never written a Python extension to a C library. Has anyone already done this in Python? Parents id of a specific object

Hi, Is there a way to get the id of an object's parent (container) ? I've tryed : <dtml-with "_.getitem(object)"> <dtml-var "PARENTS[0].getId()"> </dtml-with> but I always get the id of the ancestor of the published object. Just like the Zope book said !! Jen, I'm a newbie, so I can't tell you exactly how to do this. Since Zope supports webdav, you can use this extension to the http protocol to allow your people to use a WYSIWYG editor, like DreamWeaver and GoLive. They use the WYSIWIG editor and when they save the file, it is actually saved across the net to the server. The "file" is one of the dtml objects in the ZODBC. They don't have to use the Zope management interface or really even know they are interacting with the server to a large extent. You can also check out http://www.webdav.org <http://www.webdav.org> for more info. When the Zope server is started, you use the -W argument to the start command to start webdav support. You'll have to also assign a port to the webdav traffic. Your start command would look something like (assuming you're using unix/linux)... ./start -W 8070 where 8070 is a the port of your choosing. It's funny, we went over this is our user group last night, the LA Zope User's Group (lazug.org) but getting this all to work is beyond is beyond my experience. Anyone else have details on making this work? I'd especially be interested in knowing how to set up DreamWeaver webdav interaction with the Zope server. tree tag - only for folders?

Hi there, I have a quick about the tree tag - maybe someone can help me out? I understand that it is (only/mainly) used for representing objects/folders, but what about other sorts of dynamic content - can it be used with database data? I shall try and explain how I want to use it... I'm making a little bookmark app for my homepage where all my bookmarks are listed by category (e.g. Zope, Perl, Music). Rather than having something like... <dtml-in getCategories><b><dtml-var categoryTitle>:</b> <ul> <dtml-in getLinks><li>link info here</li></dtml-in> <ul> </dtml-in> I would like to have a [+] expansion 'thing' next to each category, where clicking it would create a list of associated hyperlinks for that category. e.g. [+] Music [+] Perl [-] Zope Zope.org ZopeNewbies.com Too much graphical detail there I fear :-o But I hope that I'm making sense. I remember seeing a bit of DHTML a few years ago which would produce the desired results, but before spending another year looking for it, I'd like to know if the tree tag could be used in this way. HTTP caching troubles

I use a "HTTP cache manager" (Zope 2.4) for caching dynamic pages written in python (external methods called from DTML methods). It seems to work correctly when I try on my computer (which is also the server) : the script is called only the first time. But when I try on another computer (but same server) the script is called the first time too ! It's not a problem of cache "interval" (I checked it). It seems that the cache is specific to a computer...(!!?)
