Garry, I just discovered this too, and resolved it - only to find that Dieter has beaten me to the resolution (again ;-) I renamed the product directory from DCO2 to ZOracleDA, deleted the DCO2 product from Control Panel/Products, and recreated the Z Oracle Database Adapter after restarting Zope. Content integration question

newbie question I'm have a lot of structured content that I want to batch process into a Zope installation some of it i already have in zclass instances that i want to change to new zclass instances and other stuff is in a variety of access database and Excel spreadsheets, CSV files etc. I have thought about using an external database but i don't think it warrants it for this situation. I also develop Mediasurface applications. there is an integration module that allows you to import CSV or XML marked up content into specified 'Item type', creating a new instance of the type for each record. Item types are a similar concept to Zclasses. what i'm getting at is that i need a similar means in Zope to perform this kind of integration process any guidance would be greatly appreciated

ftp problem: ZServer unhandled connect event??

I upgrade from 2.3.0 to 2.4.0b3, and I tried to use ws_ftp(on Win98) do download a folder. Every time a file is transfered, the console running zope will show (a lot of) such message: 2001-07-09T02:19:39 PROBLEM(100) ZServer unhandled connect event I have no idea if this is a bug with 2.4.0 or it is something I have done wrong. Yep, though it would be nice if there was a way to import re for regex substitutions within ttw python scripts... Instead, I guess I will just implement a method within the primary site container class in my Python product and just have my presentation methods acquire it... I'll might also follow Deiter's advice and borrow code from UnTextIndex to split the query. How to delete and edit objects

Hi, 1. I made a form to add text objects in Zope (Learned form Zope Book!). I used python script for that: id='entry_%d' % len(context.objectIds()) context.manage_addProduct'OFSP']. manage_addDTMLDocument(id, title="", file=comments) doc=getattr(context, id) doc.manage_addProperty('guest_name', guest_name, 'string') 2. I can show/display those objects: <dtml-in expr="objectValues('DTML Document')" sort="bobobase_modification_time" reverse> 3. How I can delete (edit) those objects with HTML form/PYTHON scripr? I like to made interactive "delete" form similar to Zope managment interface. Include function

hello all, how to include a DTML method/document into another? <dtml-var> does not work if the requested object is buried deep into another container (folder/directory) branch and not in any parent container. <dtml-with> is not a pratical one.. thanks for any help. ismet

Searching ZCatalog - sub-words?

My company, a major US newspaper, are about to deploy a new online classified ad system built using Zope. ZCatalog queries are at the core of the system's functionality, and I am very happy with the status of our system's search abilities using a globbing vocabulary. My concern is that not all users are "power searchers" -- in fact, most will be using the default search box on the site's front page and not even know that they can do wildcard searches. A search of one day's worth of classified ads for "engineer" brings up 40 results; a search for "engineer OR engineers" brings up 49 items; a search for "engineer OR engineers OR engineering" brings up 79 items; a search for "engineer*" brings up 83. I guess what I am wondering is if there is a way to search with sub-words without explicit use of wildcards? That is to say, provide a default option (perhaps something that could be disabled with a simple checkbox in the quick search form) that automatically searches using sub-words, so that a search for engineer was actually rewritten as a search for "engineer*" instead. I suppose that one could rewrite REQUEST['nameOfIndexToBeSearched'] prior to <dtml-in Catalog> to achieve those results, but I am wondering if there might be a simpler solution? Thoughts? How to set default permissions for objects in extern product

Hi, I want default permission settings for my object, which is an external product. I'd like, when people add my object to their folder, the object has already created the appropriate custom roles, and associated with them the appropriate permissions. I've tried to add a line 'self.manage_roles("member", "View management screens")' to the __init__ method of my object, but it doesn't work. Any idea? Hello, I was just wondering if Zope logs who visits what on a site ??? Usually everything that happens on your webpages (when you e.g. use apache) ends up in you webservers access_log. But does ZServer logs the same ? If so - has anyone created a product to get this data out of the log files and display them on a webpage ?? Before I started on Zope, I was using something called webalizer. Or - is it hard to "analyze" a log file and display the data from it ??? Regards, Gitte Wange
