How to accaess ssl related CGI environment variables

Hello, I'm trying to access ssl related cgi variables (like SSL_CLIENT_S_DN) in zope without success. I use apache/mod_ssl with client certificates and accessing zope with pcgi. Apache verifies the certificate, but how to know it in zope? REQUEST.eviron only have a HTTPS key. I'd like to authenticate based on the SSL_CLIENT_S_DN. Any suggestion? Istvan Vago

My objectValues doesn't have the right permissions ... I guess

I am trying to make a minimal ObjectManager How-To. So far so good. I have made the product and it works ... allmost. I can add objects to my objectmanager class. But when I try to see then in the management interface they dont show up. When I try to list the objects through: <dtml-in objectValues> <a href="<dtml-var absolute_url>"><dtml-var title_or_id></a><br> </dtml-in> I get nothing too. I CAN see them directly through the url. So my guess is that there is something wrong with my permissions for "objectValues" or somesuch. Bound methods, acquisition, __init__, Unpickleable object

Hello zope users, I have this little problem with bound methods and __init__. I have written something like: class Root(Acquisition.Implicit, Persistent): def __init__(self): self.container = [] def register_func(self, func): self.container.append(func) class Spam(Acquisition.Implicit, Persistent): def foo(self): pass def __init__(self): # This fails at Root.register_func, in self.container.append self.register_func(self.foo) def add_bound_method(self): # Works like charm, when called explicitly self.register_func(self.foo) This results in UnpickleableError, 'Cannot pickle objects' when adding the product. Now if I call register_func from somewhere else than __init__ or manage_afterAdd, there is no problem, and everything works as I expect it to work. This is propably explained somewhere in deep detail, and I have managed to miss that documentation. Any pointers to documentation or ideas on how to set bound methods to other objects would be appreciated. Best regards, Bo Granlund

With lots of blood, sweat and tears. Well not that bad but it is a pain. Firstly rebooting the server regularly is the hacky horrible solution. Secondly the long term fix is more complex, in our case we were storing part of a sql result in a request, that caused a cyclical reference and the leakage. Go through any python you may have and double check any such references... More problems with redirecting from standard_error_message

I recently posted about problems redirecting from standard_error_message (see http://lists.zope.org/pipermail/zope/2001-July/094515.html) After reading the docs on redirecting from standard_error_message (http://www.zope.org/Members/JohnC/StandardErrorMessage) I tried using RESPONSE.redirect(). No matter where I call RESPONSE.redirect(). I've whittled down my standard_error_message to <dtml-if "error_type=='NotFound'"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.redirect('http://www.newsite.com/index_html')"> <html> <body> The page you requested is now <a href="http://www.newsite.com/index_html">here. </a> </body> </html> <dtml-else> ...The normal standard_error_message is here... </dtml-if> The "page has moved here" message shows up, but neither NS or IE will redirect. What am I doing wrong? FYI, I'm running Zope 2.3.3 through Apache (proxy) RewriteRules and a VirtualHostMonster. I am new to the open source world and am contemplating developing a web based service based on Zope and attempting to understand the licensing requirements. Can anybody outline in simple statements ( or point to a resource that can explain) the Zope license ? -- is it viral? If I develop something using Zope what requirements, obligations do I have to supply source for that development?
