ZSQL w/direct traversal look everywhere else before passing value

If I create a ZSQL method called "by_id", and set it to use direct traversal, and give it a URL like this: http://foo.com/by_id/board It returns my page at /board, rather than passing board as the value required by ZSQL method. If I do this; http://foo.com/by_id/board/my_display_method it raises an error, as my_display_method never gets the results of the ZSQL method, therefore, things that would have passed along, like board member name, etc., never arrive. An obvious but icky solution is to not have anything in my acquisition path that might be passed as a value to the ZSQL method. This is really ugly though, since new values are added to the database all the time, and it would be hard to make sure this doesn't happen. Ideas? Fellow sufferers? Workarounds? But I can't see where it is wrong - the SQLContactRecord method works fine manually. manage_defined_roles pb.

Hello, I've created a Zclass, with a need for some roles. So i've created a setup method (localized on the root folder) for adding this role. Fishbowl process for private intranets

Hi, We think the Fishbowl process is a Very Good Thing (TM) and would like to implement it on our company intranet for our own development projects. Are project templates available for download anywhere? In other words, when a new proposal for a project is initiated in the DC Fishbowl process, are those "starter" outlines/wiki pages available for others to use outside of dev.zope.org? Even if we didn't implement the workflow process, having the blank templates and links would be incredibly helpful. (And would perhaps spark an internal interest here to contribute to the Zope development process ). I believe that the best software development practices are being developed and implemented within the Open Source community. And, specifically, the Zope Fishbowl process looks like a great model that we would like to implement. (Using Zope of course ;-) I have already started the process on our intranet - with the code name "Palmolive Project." Remember the old TV commercial for the dishwashing zope.. er, soap? Madge would be telling her manicure customer about how great the product was on your hands, when she would casually say "you know, you're soaking in it?" Well, now that our Zope/CMF intranet has become the accepted source for internal docs and such, I can now say "you know, you're soaking in it." Suddenly everyone wants to participate. Access SQL record from list

I am confused how to access a specific record in a MySQL database, from an HTML table holding the results of an SQL query. For example I use a DTML method with a form to specify a name, and then call an SQLMethod, which returns a list of names into an HTML table. I can specify an HTML link to another DTML or SQL Method, but I am not sure what that method should be. Any advice ? Tim Considine

Zope + SVG = killer map server ?

Hello, We are thinking about replacing our Arcview Internet Map Server (serve map datas images to web clients, ans more) with a Zope + SVG architecture. We already can see the huge benefits for such a framework : - benefits of SVG on the client (make the application more interactive and quite speedy after the data download) - benefits for a geographical base class (*any* document being able to self represent or localize on a map, ...) - benefits of interoperability with gis data - benefits of zope for managing all the complexity, - so and so Before going further (architecture and implementation), is there any one who already had same thought, or is there any similar project where we can drop in ? I already have some working pieces and some conceptual pieces, and all that needs to be properly discussed. Honnestly, this could be the next CMFlike killer app because maps are soooooooo sexy ;-))) Regards. Didier.

ZDOM ... un-domlike?

Hi, I have a simple question. I have been plying around with the ZDOM interface to Zope objects, and there seems to be something I don't quite understand. I have figured out that the attributes of any particular zope object are its properties. However when I print out attribute values using getNodeValue() on items in a list returned by getAttributes(), I get values of different types!! That is very un-domlike. The result should be a DOMString. I understand that this would make it less nice for people wanting to access their content and properties without fuss, but there are other object methods that already let you do this. I was wondering the reasoning behind this, and perhaps, if I am looking at the ZDOM in the wrong light. thanks Matt

how to initialize base class attributes

Hi all, I have a question. I've written my first python product for zope. It works until I try to access attributes of a base class. Background: Worker is a class with User as a base class. HTMLDocument kludge for Zope 2.4.0b3

I was able to eliminate a fatal error when loading HTMLDocument 0.2 in Zope 2.4.0b3 by commenting # __implements__ = IHTMLDocument # XXX ??? in HTMLDocument.py The alternative is to have Util.py check "interfaces" before trying to iterate over it.
