Problem redirecting from standard_error_message

Having moved our website to zope, there are a number of pages that have different URLs now. I've written a little script that checks the urls returns the new url if the page has moved. Then I edited standard_error_message as follows: <dtml-let new_path="temp.translate(REQUEST['URL'])"> <--- returns the new url <dtml-if "error_type=='NotFound' and new_path"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setStatus('MovedPermanently')"> <dtml-call "RESPONSE.setHeader('Location', new_path)"> <--- As per rfc, this tells the client where the page has moved to <html> <body> This page has moved <a href="<dtml-var new_path>">here</a>. </body> </html> <dtml-else> ...normal standard_error_message... </dtml-if> </dtml-let> This doesn't work. The Location gets set, but the status is still 404 (which means the browsers won't automatically be redirected to the new page). This code works in a regular dtml method, but standard_error_message seems to be doing some magic which prevents the call to RESPONSE.setStatus() from working. Is there a way around this? DTML_TREE loaded from a database.

Hi there, I have an dtml-tree that is loaded from a database table. >From the table I get keyvalues and what method to be called. I try something like this. <dtml-let object_nkl="0"> <dtml-tree id=object_nkl branches_expr="hierarki_search(parent_nkl=object_nkl)"> <a href=?object_nkl= TARGET="Right"><dtml-var name></a> </dtml-tree> However when I look at this in the browser the part with the "object_nkl" is lost. Adding an external method

Hello, I am trying to add an external metod (used in a CMF Calendar example) but it fails. Now I'm not into these external methods (and I am not sure it's the best solution) but I just want to see how this example works. The method file is named monthRange.py and I have placed it in /usr/local/Zope/Extensions it contains this code: from DateTime import DateTime def monthRange( dt ): """ Return a pair of DateTime values representing the earliest and latest times in the month in which 'dt' falls. To me it looks like there is a syntax error in the add of the external method. or is the syntax error in the python code ? Python/DBI/ODBC/Zope

We have a Python program that reads a URL, rips it apart and dumps the pieces into an ODBC connected database. Works fine from the command line. If we try to add this into Zope as an External Method, it states it cannot find the dbi component. import dbi uses a dbi.dll in Windows. This was developed on 2.1 Python but the dbi module exists in Zopes 1.52 Python so I am not sure where the problem is. Thanks Allen

Migrating to Zope2.3.3

Hi I have installed Zope2.3.3 & ZEO1.0. I would now like to move the Data.fs in my old Zope installation(2.2.4) , which has CMF0 0.10alpha, to the new Zope installation. Earlier, I had copied the Data.fs, Data.fs.lock, Data.fs.tmp & Data.fs.old to the "var" directory in "Instance_home" of the new installation. But it resulted in a datacorruption error. So I have redone the Installation & would be thankful if anyone could please tell me the process of migrating the Database to Zope2.3.3. I have custom_zodb.py, zope.conf & zctl.py in my "Instance_home " directory & the ZEO in "lib/python" under "Zope_software_home". Thanks for any help. Priya.

Help with iterating thru a list of objects

Hello! I need to display the results of an sql query and I need to compare the value of field A in the current item with the value of field A in the previous item, in order to display things correctly. Doing this in a Python script seems overkill, since I only need to control the display of things. I have crancked upp a lot of info in the result of the query for optimization reasons so changing the query is out of the question. Any help is appreciated. newbie: why external database?

ahoi, I want to develope a forum with zope. There are products wich store messages and replies in the ZODB. In case this forum will become crowded, this seems to me not the right way ( ? ). I've read that ZODB does a good job if 99% of the users only read. Is this right? Can somebody tell me at wich "size" (e.g. amount of users, hits, etc... ) an external db is needed? Anyway if i'd have to migrate to an external db, how is this functioning? thanks for replies frank

There is an known problem on Linux. It's not easily fixable, but you can work around.
