When you see stuff in the ZMI that you like, I would suggest looking at the souce(DTML, python, etc) that builds those pages. zope hangs

A glitch :( It happens in zope 2.3.3 (python 1.5.2) and zope 2.4.0 (python 2.1.1) under OpenBSD 2.7. After a day or two of normal work zope simply stops responding to HTTP requests. When I telnet to 80 port it connects, but nothing else happens. What to do? How to know where it handgs and why? Is it possible to attach to zope process and see what's going there?.. -- Roman V. Yep. I saw the solved msg right after I sent the last message. The message about an invalid string is correct. The DA _could_ suggest checking the permissions, but it is behaving properly. It likely doesn't have permission to read the pg_hba.conf file and if the db were remote, it couldn't do so easily. While the error is good, it should suggest checking permissions. Glad it's working now. Newbie question: testing a script with a record argument

L.S., Actually I have 2 questions: #1 Could someone hint me on how to test a Python script in the test tab view, where the script needs a person record (as obtained from an addPersonForm)? The person record consists of the person.fname and person.lname fields but I just have one entry for person in the test form. #2 The above-mentioned form should let me add a person-object to a Persons-folder. I want to assign to every object a unique IDnumber. My idea is to store the lastAssignedID information as a property of the Persons-folder and update it after every adding. Does this make sense and should I use something like container.manage_changeProperty(lastAssignedID)? Thanks in advance, Roger Erens

With this file into the Extensions folder of your Zope, you can add interesting External Methods to your Zope, or use a class in association with Z SQL Methods...
