Other users can't see certain PDF files. The issue is not file or file size specific. A PDF file viewable by one user is not viewable by another. We're on Zope 2.4.1 running on Windows 2000. Free Zope Servers?

INSTANCE_HOME & System rc Script

Hi; I'd like to install INSTANCE_HOME, which lead me to the System rc script, but am a little confused by the instructions: In the System rc /etc/rc.d/init.d/zope script I read the following: ZOPE_BASE=/opt/Zope INSTANCE_BASE=/home/httpd/zope and again in the env script: ZOPE_BASE=/usr/local/Zope Where do these come from? They aren't in my system to begin with. Are they part of the build? Did they get placed elsewhere? How do I search for them? Or do I need to write them? Or are these scripts automagically generated? Place the var and Extensions directories and the access file for the site in the site directory. If you are starting from scratch, you can make empty directories and create access with the zpasswd.py utility. Okay, I can install from scratch. I understand how to change passwords with the zpasswd.py utility. How do I create access to the new directories I'll be creating utilizing this utility? Or, do I just build the symlinks and be done with it? What is meant by the above passage? TIA, BenO

Hi, im using zope 2.4.1. I tried the small "underscore modification" and the External Method. Both did not work! Calling a HTTPS url from a python script

Hello, I know this may not be a Zope specific question but I don't know where else to get my answers ... I am about to "simulate" a call to a payment gateway ... normally you create a HTML form with the action set to the gateway and the method set to POST .. but I want to make the call to the gateway from a python script. Alternavely a dtml method will work but ... I haven't got any clues on how to do this .. maybe there is something I have missed ... so are there anyone who can help me .. ?? TIA, Gitte Wange

Several standard_error_message and HTTPResponse.py questions

Hi, I've spent most of the day reading everything I can on the various wiki's and mailing list archives. I understand from: http://zope.nipltd.com/public/lists/zope-archive.nsf/ByKey/F1D3AA2B3825F14A that the ZPublisher uses the hardcoded html in HTTPResponse.py to show some error messages. I hope that some documentation on this, as well as getting this out from being hardcoded there will be considered as pretty important priorities. That said, I'm experiencing something I wonder if anyone can explain. On my site if I go to a non existent resource (url) I end up getting the Site Error message nested inside itself. I get Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. NotFound ...... And then nested in that : Site Error An error was encountered while publishing this resource. Resource not found ..... Yet when I try this on cmf.zope.org I only get it once. When I try it on dev.zope.org or www.zope.org I get a customized Not Found page. Can someone share whether the www.zope.org and dev.zope.org sites are using the trick that Joachim described to do in HTTPResponse.py (I guess): Quote " You can change the HTML code there if you want to have a customized error. You might also put an HTML-based redirect into the HTML header and redirect it to some non-protected Zope error page." OR did they just go change the hardcoded html in HTTPResponse.py? I'd like customize and would rather do it by redirecting. Has anyone tried this? Does anyone know why I get the nested thing? Thanks, Lynn

Great Zope Site Idea?

Hello Zopists|Zopers|Zope Monkeys, I thought of a great site idea requarding Zope, and please tell me if this is already out there. The site would have people's resumes that are zopists, and promote zope for companies that might be curious or looking for something other than IIS. Basically everyone would have an account and can post their resume, and potential employeers can view these, much like monster.com, yet free. Also there would be basically info on Zope and how it is so great and awesome, and info on opensource and why it is so good. Basically try to sell Zope to companies and employeers so they may think to give Zope a shot, as alot of companies feel disillusioned with IIS and all that Microsoft promises ('specially after this other new IIS worm). Also a nice side effect to help with the "selling" of Zope to employeers is just looking at resumes, in that they can look at how talented and experience many of us have in the IT/programming world. I mean if someone has a nice resume background that will make an employeer interested, the addition of Zope on there will not hurt and may arouse curiosity as to why they are working with Zope. Please let me know what you think, and if there is already a site out there that has this, I apologize and would like to see it.
