All exisiting objects just see the default value define in the class, until they provide a value for their own. If they are instances of a Product class defined in Python, then it is similarly easy. You just define the new property as an attribute in the class (use only immutable types! --> Python language reference). The objects see this "class" property until they define their own value. Otherwise, you may fiddle with "__setstate__" (think about this only, if you already know what "__setstate__" is used for) or use Chris Withers' "update" script (--> mailing list archives). Dieter

You probably need to setup a proxy role. Go to http://www.zope.org/Members/michel/ZB/Security.dtml#6-6 and scroll down until you find "Proxy roles". Zope and Content Management on High bandwidth sites

Just a thought for a feature for Zope or the CMF. Today, as many major news sites are overloaded, they are removing images or not serving images from the pages to decrease bandwidth usage. While this is by no means a common occurence, we might consider adding to either zope or the cmf, the ability to turn off serving of images. Reload of Extension-Modules not working in 2.4.1

Hi, the refresh of external python-methods after a change, does not work in Zope-2.4.1, Zope is startet with the -D option. Can someone confirm this ? Output debug info

Unfortunately, Zope does not show up like mod_php, mod_perl, or java on an apache server. Netcraft really only notices the http server, so it will not accurately count zope run as a CGI. A site only counts as a zope site if it is running zserver, so that makes it difficult to track. Core Session Tracking 0.8 and Zope 2.4.x?

Is Core Session Tracking working with Zope 2.4.x? I had a really quick go last week with 0.8 and it barfed about something of a looping over non-sequence in some method deepdown called _vw or something. Haven't had time to experiment with it yet, but now I'm more in the planning kind of stage and trying to find out about future product compabilies. Yes, I searched the mailing list and found nothing.
